Reviews of Lower Plateau Rd, Bilgola
"I love my street"
I moved here a little under 2 years ago and we love it. We have amazing views, great access to Avalon via Hudson Pde rather than the bends and a level walk to the beautiful Angophora Reserve. Our neighbours are where we lucked out though, we love them like family and now spend Christmas together. A wonderfully warm neighbourhood.
Great for
- Everyone looks after their gardens so it is a beautiful looking street.
- Walking distance to an amazing public school.
- Sunsets!!!!! Oh and you can hear all the boats from Pittwater.
Not great for
- The busses don't run often enough.
- There is one crazy driver that drives too fast every now and then.
- Ummmm.......

Looking for a home in Lower Plateau Rd?
"Great Neighbourhood, both friendly and attractive."
Plateau Rd becomes Lower Plateau Rd as it winds down from the Bilgola shops, and takes a sharp right hand turn. The street hugs the hill going around many twists and sharp bends, some of which have gullies leading down into shaded valley areas, providing streams and waterfalls in times of heavy rain. This is a leafy neighbourhood and many homes have spectacular views of Pittwater through or above the trees.
The houses here range from large modern style, to original 1970s, and all ranges of renovated in between. Most blocks are large, and also steep, with only a few relatively level blocks dotted amongst the homes on this long road. The street is zoned, by Pittwater Council, as a ‘landslip’ area, and therefore development applications pass through a rigorous set of compliances, including the necessity of geotechnical engineering reports.
It’s a friendly neighbourhood community, with many families, and people tend to look out for one another. One drawback, however, is the lack of footpaths, particularly with regards to the tight bends and often dangerous drivers (that seem to be found in all parts of Sydney).
Wildlife is prolific in the area and includes possums, bandicoots, Tawny Frogmouths, spiders, snakes, leeches, and the bane of Pittwater area – ticks.
