Youngish families in Macedon?

Hi, we are considering buying in Macedon, but don't know the town well at all. We have a 2 yr old daughter, and wondering what the town is like for youngish families (my husband and I are in our late 30s).

I have friends there and they love it. It has a great primmary school and loads of colleges. The CFA are also very family oriented. Other wise you are only 10 minutes to Gisborne which has a abundance of sporting and other social activities

I've lived in Macedon my whole life..
It has been an awesome place to grow up as a child, family orientated and safe. Though most of the "old faces" have moved on, the newbies around town are just as friendly.

Primary School is being updated and there are plenty of options for highschools and other primaryschools within 10-15mins drive if you don't like MPS.

The main drag boasts a couple of fancy little cafe's now, the pubs recently re-opened and the IGA supermarket has most of the things you would need in an emergency, with Gisborne or Woodend not far off for a weekley shop.
Its Rural enough to feel like you live in a "real country town", but close enough to the burbs and the city to not have to pack a lunch for the drive...
