There is only one primary school in the MacGregor area. It is the MacGregor Primary School which is located on Hirschfeld Crescent in MacGregor.

The ACT government poured quite a lot of money into Macgregor Primary School to improve reading & literacy rates a few years back, and it looks to have paid off very well. Macgregor Primary School has typically scored better in English than the other surrounding West Belco suburbs (2615), but still needs to work on lifting its game in Maths (source: http://bettereducation.com.au/ )
