I was hoping to get some helpful advice about life on Macleay Island with small children?

My partner and myself are seriously considering the move and have done plenty of research, it would just be great to hear some feedback from other parents

The children have a great community support. Over time everyone knows whose kids belong to whom which offers a slightly better safety aspect and neighbourhood watch! Recently a fabulous new skate park was opened in the hub area of Macleay which is well patronised and lovely to see.

I see kids regularly fishing, swimming and riding their bikes and skateboards in the company of others, which is comforting to see with reports in trends of children spending masses of time on their computer or in front of electronic games.

As others have said it is not the same as a city life, there are some trade offs with lifestyle. Overall I feel and observe the benefits are huge!

Macleay is an excellent 'family' island. You have to be somewhat Island orientated though as at only 5km square plus or minus as the children get older they find it restrictive. Costly for a whole family to travel to the mainland too on a regular basis. 8 years experience!
