How do I meet some of the professionals who live in Millgrove? I only see bogans.

Gobron-Brillie, have you considered relocating? You seem to be extremely unhappy with your living environment. Or, perhaps trying focusing on the beauty that surrounds you.

MichelleW3, you're missing the point. I've previously said this is a beautiful place that is spoiled by bogans and their yapping dogs. The bogans talk to each other, but I'm 75 and therefore not included. At my age, it's too late to relocate and start again. Other reports on this site have talked of the certain areas of Millgrove that are difficult to live in.

I come in peace Gobron-Brillie :-) I empathise with you regarding relocating at your age. Moving home is difficult any time, and even more so as time goes by. I do also understand your frustration concerning barking dogs; it can drive one crazy. Is there a course of action available through council? The question is, is it worthwhile? Unfortunately the 'bogan' element is everywhere in society, however given the greater threat we are now facing, I'd take my chances on a bogan any day.

Greetings MichelleW3 :-) Your comment that “barking dogs ... can drive one crazy” is very much to the point. In the long term, the barking has an extreme effect on one's mental health. The council is very slow to act on what is seen as “Private Nuisance.” I know a person in Healesville who worked for two years to get a result in a similar case. My initial complaint was in January, 2013 and I'm now getting outside assistance which may help to bring about change. I believe, perhaps hope, that it is all worthwhile. The Upper Yarra Valley is a beautiful place to live in one's later years and my house is ideal for an older person; just bad luck about the neighbours. Thanks for your comments.
