Plenty of private schools either local or via transport into Melbourne. My kids grew up here. One is now in medicine/lab work and one yet to embark. All the best with your choice.

Mooroolbark is a great place to live. Lots of things to do as a family and very reputable public schools.

I don't agree that the public schools are all that good, they really need to lift their game, but private education is very accessible from the area. Not saying that the teachers don't care for the kids at the public schools, they do, but going to school should be a preparation for work not just for social involvement. That said, I have found the public school kids on the busses quite respectful I just wish they'd see how good they have it out here and lift their shoulders a bit, if they constantly look toward the gutter you miss all the good stuff. Both private and public schooled kids and young adults have every opportunity around here.
