"eh"

I lived there all my life but have now moved. It used to be very safe and lovely but now once the weather warms up teenagers and preteens run the streets at night, they harass people of all ages and nationalities. Many move from the city to find there is no work, transport is horrible! it is a junkie hot spot. there's a high chance your car or house will be robbed and police will take a long time to come and if they show up the chances of them helping you is unlikely. People don't have manners, and it is a very boring place!

"A great place to raise a family"

Moss Vale is a great little town in the Southern Highlands NSW. It is regarded as, after speaking to many locals as the 'gem of the highlands' and represents good value for home buyers. The little town of Moss Vale located around 1.5 hours south of Sydney airport is a character filled town. The town has two supermarkets, three hotels and a selection of specialty shops. I would reccomend eating at the Moss Vale Hotel, the local thai or "seafood affair" and try to catch some local music and meet some of the friendly people at any hotel in Moss Vale. Moss Vale maybe seen by some as the cheaper cousin to Bowral, (prices would suggest this) although after spending some time in the town, Moss Vale has a true spirit which sorrounding towns lack. The town has two primary schools one being a public school, which locals speak highly of , and a Cathlic school wich caters for students accross all of the HIghlands. Moss Vale High School is an agriculture specialist school. Moss Vale also has good employment prospects, rental returns are also strong. Moss Vale offers equal to or better than public transport anywhere in the highlands as it houses a main train station and bus service to the coast. All in all Moss Vale is a town full of friendly folk, I would have no hesitation in buying property ( as I have done) in this gorgeous town.

But do you actually live in the property you bought? What street did you buy in? Kings Road or Parkes Road? There is a vast difference.

Can you tell me the good streets to buy on then,
What is Suttor like? We have retired, and would like to move out of Sydney. We like Bowral, but it is so xpensive.

Suttor Road is nice especially the end closer to the wetlands. The north side of town and the area around the high school is also very attractive. It depends what you are looking for. Neighbours can make or break my opinion of a place, but if you are looking for lovely scenery these areas are good. I don't know what the people are like there. Certain Bowral people joke about Moss Vale, but Moss Vale is a more down to earth area. Mittagong is somewhere in between, and seems to be popular with young families. We moved from Moss Vale five years ago to a northern village. We like it very much.

Rentals in Moss Vale

"A Jewel in the NSW Green Corridor"

An English visitor might find that Moss Vale is home from home. It's green and lush with a decidedly cooler temperature than Sydney and a fresher, crisper atmosphere than the mugginess which permeates the coastal areas. Lying just in from the coast, Moss Vale is part of the Southern Highlands region of NSW and is only a drive of an hour and a half from Sydney on a very straight and comfortable freeway.

The Southern Highlands region is known for country style and lush green pastures. The South Coast and its hinterland were predominantly farmed as dairy country (cows like grass!). There's a delightful old world charm about the town that stems back to a lost time of butter churns and home made scones.

Moss Vale is a fantastic day trip for any visitor to Sydney, and if time permits; a great place to settle down for a few days and recharge the batteries while enjoying the countryside. Surrounding areas offer everything from forest to mountain to sea: so it's well worth the trip.

"Moss Vale - relaxing atmosphere grat for a visit or to live."

Moss Vale is in the Southern Highlands of NSW and is a wonderful spot to relax and get away from the crowds and enjoy the clean air. Moss vale is an agricultural area and has a long history. There are many buildings around the town dating back to the 1860’s onwards that have been restored and preserved. These are great to visit and look into our past. The town offers arts and craft shops as well as antique shops where you can pick up a bargain. Enjoy the many cafes etc serving dishes made from local produce or buy some to take home. Stay in the comfort of quaint guesthouses and B & B’s or a farm stay.
