Wanted: inside scoop on Mount Crosby primary school and local area- any insights?

We are relocating from Melbourne and unsure of the local school as it is huge compared to current school. Mount Crosby seems to have just the general store, am I missing something? Where do people go for a coffee and lunch? Where do locals meet up with friends? Wat local activities are there for kids? Thanks in advance!

The school is supposed to be excellent as well as Karalee Primary. Everything else the other person said is right. Mt Crosby, Karana Downs and Karalee are all really nice areas. It's like 15 mins to Ipswich shopping centres so it's not like everything is that far away well as long as you have a car anyway ;)

Well, for coffee I go to Melbourne... But Mt Crosby is a lovely place to live. The beauty is that there is not much here other than the local shop. It is pretty, has an interesting history and is very safe. You do have to be prepared to drive everywhere - there is no public transport. 10 mins drive to a supermarket and a good medical centre at Karalee, and a bit further for other shops. Peak hour drive to Brisbane is a nightmare. The school is a bit overcrowded, but I believe it is quite good. The area is great for bushwalking and mountain biking - around Mt Crosby itself and Lake Manchester.
