Both areas are lovely. It' s probably a matter of personal preference. If you want a more family friendly environment with lots of walking tracks, nature and peace and quiet , I would strongly suggest the Moorooduc side would be the way to go. The beachside is nice too but is getting increasingly busy and built-up. The Moorooduc side feels like living in the Dandenongs and has that same peaceful feel. You can also get some better views on that side being higher on the hill.

It’s all about price. Near the beach is up to 50% more in price. There is no overdevelopment in Mt Eliza with a fairly stable population. I don’t see any point in living in a beachside suburb if you can’t walk to the beach. May as well live in Cranbourne.
