Reviews of Narangba, QLD

"Perfect living for our family"

We moved into Narangba in September 2020. The walkways and Parks are perfect for us. The shopping centre along Young road is convenient but not big enough to attract too much traffic, besides North Lakes is only about 15mins away and sometimes we even dash down to Burpengary if we need a bit more variety but still easy parking.
I work near to the city so my commute can be anything between 40-60mins each way. Other than distance from the City, there is nothing worth mentioning that is a negative.

Looking for a home in Narangba?

"Great place to live"

Narangba an easy choice for us to buy and settle down. Walkways, parkland and close to shops and everything you need. High speed rail into brisbane city, faster than closer suburbs like Lawton and petrie. Great for a growing family without the expensive price tag.

"Nice family suburb"

We moved here approx 4 months ago. We saw some not so nice reviews but the reasons were the same as every suburb. Without social media we would have no idea about break ins and car thefts. It's always happened in all areas and it always will. What we've found is a gorgeous suburb with mostly lovely residents. Our daughter attends Narangba Valley State school and we are soooo happy with it. She loves her school and we are pleasantly suprised with how wonderful it really is. We love being not too far from Brisbane but far enough away that we can enjoy a nice leafy and relaxed suburb. I've lived in small towns before. This is not a small town but somehow gives you that small town feel the minute you exit the bruce hwy. So many gorgeous walking/running/riding tracks and parks. We are so spoilt for choice really. We love it

"Small town community feel great for the family."

I have lived in Narangba 10 years now and have watched it grow and develop into a wonderful community. Schools are excellent and perform really well, cafes are great and lots of great walking/biking tracks easy commute to both city and Sunny coast as well as being handy to North Lakes and Redcliffe. Couldn't think of a better place to raise your kids.

"Loving it so far"

Been living here for just over a year and loving it. Pretty quiet and safe.
It is on the train line with Express train to the city. Only 5 stops to central.
Easy to travel to sunshine coast. And gold coast as well as M1 is close by.
Near Costco and Northlakes Westfield. So really quite convenient.
Property price is affordable and there are a lot of acreage properties available.
The new sunshine coast university at petrie is being built and I expect property prices and rent will rise as it is close by.

It is a great and safe area to live in. Lots of school for the kids, and everyone is super friendly. They have all the needed shops in the suburb and a dog park. I'd highly recommend to live here to anyone.

Hi, do you live or know of anyone that lives near the train tracks? I'm trying to find out how noisy they are at night, as we are looking to move to the area. Many thanks for any relevant info.

"Lovely place but becoming expensive"

We moved here as a young family wanting a lovely safe suburb to raise our children. Though i still love Narangba, the neighborly spirit is great. 9 times out of 10 everyone is so caring and fun.
Unfortunately one thing we have experienced is crime, from crimes like stolen letterbox's, fake blood poured of work vehicle's, egging cars and houses to kids throwing rocks at cars and causing hundreds of dollars in damage, older "teens" breaking into parked cars, stealing children's bikes, damaging property, stolen cars and such... i have never had so much drama until i moved here which is sad as it is Such a lovely place with kind people, a few idiots ruined it for everyone.
Though friendly and safe through the day. At night you better have good-locks, cctv outside your home and keep everything locked up and away.
Also cat's are very welcome in Narangba :)

Great for

  • Lovely area
  • Great school's
  • Great neighbourhood and sense of community

Not great for

  • Theft/Crime

"Narangba Valley - A great place to bring up kids..."

Close enough to get to the big smoke when you want to, but far enough away to have a community and know your neighbour. It's safe enough for your older kids to walk to their friends' houses in the evening, or down to the soccer or baseball fields. Lots of kids walk to and from school or to sporting events; even the shops and the tavern are walking distance. There are good doctors that are local and that are expanding their network of medical services. There are really great schools where the teachers stay over a long period of time and it creates a stable educational environment. The High School does exceptionally well academically and there are great arts/sports/dance opportunities as well. And it's only 20 mins to the beach at Redcliffe or 30 mins to the surf on the other side of Bribie! It's just a great place to bring up your kids.

Great for

  • Safe and secure
  • Great neighbourhood and sense of community
  • Peaceful...at night! 10 minutes to the highway.
  • No loud parties or doof doof in the streets!

Not great for

  • A nice high quality restaurant or bistro would be great to see!
  • Could do with a few more car parks at the station.

"Great Location! Overview Of Narangba"

I work at Ray White Narangba and we constantly see new people coming to this area who are surprised and impressed by what it has to offer.

Narangba is located approximately 30km north of Brisbane, just off the Bruce Highway about 15km west of Moreton Bay and the Redcliffe Peninsula. The Narangba region offers an amazing diversity of property from the pristine residential estates of Norfolk Lakes and Forest Ridge, to semi rural acreage with a real feel of the country.

Lakes and waterways linked by secluded paths and cycleways are a common feature of the attractive residential developments in the area. With it’s own train station and 40-minute rush hour journey time to Brisbane, Narangba offers a perfect balance of affordability, larger land options and practical convenience.

Narangba is ideally situated for family days out and leisure time with Lake Samsonvale and Alma Park Zoo close by, whilst Bribie Island (with it’s fishing paradise of Pumicestone Passage) and the Sunshine Coast are barely 40 minutes drive.

Great for

  • Peaceful...at night! 10 minutes to the highway.

"Ticks all the boxes"

I've been looking in the area for the last few months and it looks like it ticks all my boxes. Community spirited with nice people and green spaces. Good schools and childcare with good transport and commuting options. My research says that property values have held their own over the last couple of years, so I keep wondering what's the catch...............so far I haven't found one.
Hope to be someone's new neighbour soon!

"Surburban Paradise"

This place ROCKS! Everything so close and easy to get into Bris. Nice people too, real community feel. There's heaps of greenery and parks around too, so it's no concrete jungle. We've been living in Narangba for about 2 years now and the schools and childcare are some of the best around. The kids love the area, they have lots of parks and places to play and they've made heaps of friends since we moved here. It's got a great community feel about the place and the people were really friendly when we first moved in. I feel like I'm part of a community, I don't just live here.
The night life may not be to everyone's taste, but I like the fact that there isn't that culture of heavy drinking, loud mouthed hoons that pervades some of the adjacent areas.
If you're looking for somewhere to raise a family, this is it!

Great for

"It was once a wonderful place to live"

When we first moved to Narangba, 30 years ago, it was a wonderful place to live.
there were always koalas and possums in our trees, beautiful parrots and many other birds were always around
we all knew each other, there were families living here who were the second generation of local pioneers...the kids played in the streets, rode their bikes and kicked their footies around after school.
unfortunately the secret got out and now the serenity has been disturbed. there is so much traffic, along with the occasional imbecilic hoons who delight in dropping rubber at the end of our road.
and of course every available piece of bush is being bulldozed for even more sub standard housing, with tiny blocks being sold and barely any trees being grown to replace those destroyed by greedy developers and councils.
as for the koalas and other native wildlife that once abounded in this area? huh, good luck with spotting one now. the poor little buggers have been just about destroyed, either eaten by dogs or run over by speeding motorists...once again, thanks to the greed of the local councils and developers and the complete lack of concern by the state government for the future of these defenceless creatures.
about the only place you'll see a koala in narangba now is on the tv!
yes, once a wonderful place to live.
now?
it's just another piece of suburbia!

Great for

  • Peaceful...at night! 10 minutes to the highway.

Not great for

  • Far too much traffic, difficult to get a parking space at the local train station.

I completely agree, each week it goes down a little further. Hoons, crime, litter. Too many houses on too small a block..... The old Narangba was much better. I think it is fine for greedy self absorbed people who love to gossip.

nicm12

Or families who can only afford a smaller block? Im sure it was much nicer back then, but as investors and out of staters drive first home buyers, low income earners and young families further and further away from the city it seems quite bitter to trash a suburb because it used to be different. I think for proximity to city Narangba is a lovely suburb, I would love a bigger block and a quiet bushland experience but unfortunately for that id need to move out to Woodford or further. Thats the way the real estate world is these days. Your problem isn't with Narangba, its with the real estate landscape, and gossip? Im sorry people gossip within your specific circles, all of Narangba should suffer for it.

"Wonderfull place to live"

I moved here in 2005 and have loved it every since. People are friendly, Great Schools. The suburb is fairly new so overall the homes are relatively new homes on spacious blocks. Lots of cul-de-sacs. lots of parks, playgrounds and walk ways for the kids and dogs. Tree lined streets. There are 2 supermarkets (Woolworths and IGA), for more retail therapy Northlakes and Morayfield are under 10 minutes away. Would like more places to eat out. Good Pizza Shop. There are acerage properties surrounding the built up areas so its a little like living in the country but without the distance (Only 1 set of traffic lights). Easy 5-7 Minutes to Bruce Highway and There is a train station with express train to Brisbane.

"Best Street in Narangba"

I'm first home owner, and we live in the perfect Narangba Valley Northfolk lakes estate,My street has a mix of people, ages and professions, although we have one thing in common is our friendship we help each other with advice on new parenting and gardening. A neighbour in our street tree gave each newly built house a new tree to plant to create a oasis. I thought of this as my first house, although I think with the neighbours and the kindship in our street ( Huron Place ) We'll be here a very long time.

"Serenity NOW!!!"

Narangba is peaceful, beautiful and a sense of real people, who stop to chat, our neighbours we consider good friends BBQ's and drinks. Love the views of the mountains best place I have ever lived. Although my friends tell me they don't travel that far for holidays, city dwellers who live in 1 bedroom boxes and pay rent, so they can say live in the city. I own my home, have 4 bedrooms quarter of acre and pool, would not live anywhere else. 30 minutes to city, 35 minutes to Caloundra perfect.
I have travelled the world and I'm always happy to come home to my serenity in Narangba, HOME!!!!!
