Newstead is a lovely and quiet suburb. It is made up a range of residents including singles, couples, families and seniors. Amenities are all located in close proximity and central to the suburb. Likely to be within walking distance you will find the supermarket, local pub, bottle-shop, petrol station, hair salons, chemist, newsagency and post office. Newstead is only 5-10 minutes from the city centre and is in range of food delivery services and public transport.

Too close to ravenswood for my liking. The older part is much nicer, but if you're into that sort of thing then East Launceston is the way to go.

Newstead really is a great place to live. You are able to walk into town and with no hills it only takes 15 minutes easy walking to get there. But the Newstead Shopping Complex means you really don't need to venture into the CBD unless you want to. You have a supermarket, medical centre, hotel, Thai Restaurant and bank so that all the essentials are covered. Add to this some of the best schools in Launceston you really do have a great family suburb.

Fantastic suburb with plenty of beautiful leafy , quiet streets and cul-de-sacs. With good shopping including men and woman's fashion, craft, florists, award winning hairdressesr's, supermarket, newsagency, post office, doctors and chemists add to this, fantastic schools and all this a 5 minute drive from the cbd.
