Moving to Geelong - need good kindergartens in Geelong West, Newton or Herne Hill area

Is Herne Hill and Belmont safe and pleasant areas to consider for young families? Any good kindergartens and primary schools in those areas?

HH and Belmont are considered safe and pleasant.
You could contact the City of Greater Geelong - Family Services and ask about kindas. They run a few and are involved in ongoing training.

Belmont was mostly big blocks with Californian bungalows and other nice simple big homes and lots of advanced gardens and trees. Lately developers buy up the block and put in units. Belmont nicer than Most parts of Grovedale. Most of the parks are probably down at the river. Can only think of little parks in Belmont.

HH, nice houses, gardens good schools. HH has quite a percentage of European migrants. You can smell the meat being smoked, vegie gardens, grandparents walking to baby sit the kids carrying a plate of food. That's true in Bell Park too. More variety in house styles in HH then BP.

Think about how kids are going to get to school later. If they get driven ok, but if walking, see if the school has a 'Walking Bus'. Quite a few Geelong schools do.

I don't personally know the kindas but being good suburbs I think you'll find one. I work with kids and through training and holiday jobs, all the child care workers I've met are dedicated and caring and well trained.

Both suburbs are quite clean. The air is awful travelling north from Norlane and in Corio due to Shell and other industries in North Shore.
When I work in Corio I cough all the time and get sore eyes.
