Reviews of Nhill, VIC

"Nice town halfway between Melbourne and Adelaide"

A fairly quiet town with friendly locals, good pubs, hardware shop, IGA, a few servos, a retravision and some other businesses, mostly nice houses (many older style), a golf course and in the median of the main street there is a small park with playground, picnic area public toilets and an information center.

A lot of trucks pass through the main street in the middle of the night, as Nhill is in the middle of the main truck route between Melbourne and Adelaide, so living on one of the backroads is wise.

Great for

  • Mostly Quiet
  • Good Watering Holes
  • Safe

Not great for

  • Far away from other places

"Ideal place to start a fresh with a small friendly town community"

Nhill is a nice quiet town but has many people that respect each other. They are friendly and inviting. The spirits of the town need you. If you want a nice quiet place that you can call home, have loads of enthusiam and want to be a part of this well Nhill needs you.Come on Australia bring this town back to life. Inject the community and their spirits and help uplift this town back to the way it was. This great little town has schools which are been upgraded, a hospital which is modern, council facities, shops and traffic that goes through to adelaide and nhill is a great gateway. Increase the businesses. Bring the wow factor back to this tiny town that was once one big family. Now that traffic diverts through the town, streets like Goldsworthy St are safe and quiet. Sit back and relax. Enjoy the friendly neighbours . Why not buy number 6 Goldsworthy St. Its got room with 3 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, dining room, water tanks and even a garage. Pop you head over the fence and say Gidday. Neighbours are great. There is room for improvement on the house or leave it the way it is. Great to live in or ideal for the investment. First home buyers say this is my home today.
Nhill has plenty of opportunity to grow but the people need to strive for this.

"a nice little town in the Wimmera"

On the Road from Adelaide to Melbourne, I have stopped off here a few times. It is a quiet little town with a good smattering of shops and some good places to grab something to eat quickly.
The houses are reasonably attractive and it is an attractive country town. It had a much nicer feel than many other country towns I have visited.
It would make a great place to raise a family if you want to live in the country.
Like many towns, if you need anything out of the ordinary then it is likely you’ll need to take a trip to a larger centre.
There are some good schools in the area so you won't have to travel for ages to drop the kids off every morning, let them walk or ride
Don't expect a thumping lifestyle though, the nightlife is not big.
