Niddrie has all your local restaurant and businesses for all your necessities. Wish there was more cuisine variety besides Italian and Greek and Chinese however we are starting to see better new bunch cafes like Moonee ponds.

Niddrie is friendly suburb with a great community feel, older residents welcome new families. Niddrie is quite a middle class suburb with many residents that are University educated or have children that have completed a University qualification. It has excellent public transport and is close to excellent private and public schools including, Essendon North Primary, St John Bosco, St Bernard's College, Buckle Park College, Ave Maria College and Penleigh and Essendon Grammar. Furthermore, Keilor Road has some excellent restaurants, cafes and patisseries. Public transport includes trams, buses and a small drive to Essendon station making access to the CBD easy. Sub divisions are popular in some streets which can make some streets busy. Overall a great suburb!

Affordable housing, closely following in Essendons foot steps...best area of Niddrie are streets running parallel to Keilor Road, up to Rosehill Road....Nolan Street, Shaw and Coghlan Street, centrally located, with great access to shops, and the areas best schools...

Niddrie is now well over priced and too busy. The day has past when you can walk you family down the street to grab a quiet coffee and cake. Niddrie is turning into a renters haven...apartments, units and townhouses keep poping up everywhere and the quiet Niddire is turning into a rat race. Yes a great place to invest but now im not sure to live. The crime rate has doubled in the past five years and yet still increasing. Council - Please stop issueing permits to overnight developers!

Sharing its 3042 postcode with Airport West this relatively small suburb has strong links with its northern neighbour as well as Essendon to the east. But it also emits its own sense of style and character – the focal point of which is the dynamic Niddrie Shopping Centre with its vast array of cafés, restaurants and unique specialty shops. Housing styles are predominantly 1950s and 60s weatherboard or brick veneer similar to those of the western parts of Essendon and Airport West plus there’s the more contemporary pockets along the undulating terrain of Steele Creek. Given the generally large block sizes in Niddrie’s older parts, many original homes are making way for quality multi-unit developments and new family homes – a sure sign of Niddrie’s increasing popularity with buyers of all ages.
