Reviews of Onslow, WA

"Small town living"

Pros
The town has new, well maintained facilities that you often get to yourself (the MPC, basketball courts, pool, picnic areas, playgrounds).
You can walk or ride anywhere in town, nights are spent walking to a friends house for dinner. Streets are safe you can walk at night.
If you have a boat their are a few islands to explore and the fishing is good. If you have a tinny plenty of creeks to explore.
Can see turtles and whales along the coast. Turtles lay along the beach.

Cons
Not close to any other towns. Karratha is the closest and is 3 hours away
If you love going to the shops you will not like it, as their are no clothing stores or shopping 'malls'
If you love eating out at somewhere different each week their are currently only 3 places to eat.
Not much to do after you have lived their awhile, especially if you don't have a boat - you can go to 3 mile, 4mile, old onslow, termite mound viewing area, secret creek.

Facilities:
Has 2 pubs, a general store, post office, hospital (where the doctors are free), hardware store, sports club, small library, school, community garden, Sportsclub has tennis courts and bowling green, it also has other sport equipment.
