Reviews of Port Noarlunga, SA

"It has everything"

Imagine waking up early on a Sunday, walking down to the many local cafes for a coffee, strolling casually down the local beach or fishing on the jetty then heading to the pub for lunch. Well you can do all of this and more in Pt Noarlunga. It offers a variety of shops, cafes, drive through bottle shop connected to the Pt Noarlunga hotel, pristine beaches, schools, breathtaking views and a quiet neighborhood. This area would be high on my list of an area to retire too. Experience it for yourself and spend the weekend, you will never want to leave.

"Stunning suburb, one of the best areas to live in Adelaide"

Safe clean beaches, and everything within a short walk away.
Port Noarlunga has everything! I have travelled all over the world and this village is simply breathtaking. It's beach and jetty are world class. The beach is protected by a natural reef and swimming is safe. Anglers use the jetty all year round and kids "jetty jump' into the crystal water below! There are restaurants and pubs and just so much to do. What a brilliant holiday destination. so much so that I decided to move here...I just love the place.

"Port Noarlunga - its like holidaying at home!"

Even though the surrounding suburbs have seen extensive new residential developments, Port Noarlunga has retained its quaint-seaside-village feel. The locals are friendly and we take great pride in our suburb. It's a great place for professionals, with easy access to the city by car or train and it's a quicker trip than most people realise. It's also a perfect place to raise a family. There are well maintained parks in most neighbourhoods, some are really popular and busy (like the wooden park near the river) while others are tucked away in the backstreets. Shopping is easy and there are lots of options. There's a great choice of cafes and the redeveloped foreshore has really added to the appeal of an already beautiful beach.

"Historic Beachside Village Lifestyle"

We have lived down south for over 20 years and have spent just over 13years in Port Noarlunga, we came here as a young family and have loved it. Our children have gone through Kindy, Primary School and now have Completed Secondary School while we have lived here and if we had to do it all over again in this area, we would and we wouldn't change a thing.
Port Noarlunga has so much going for it from the Beautiful beach with the Jetty, the Reef, the River and yet so close to Shops, Schools and Public transport. Only 30 minutes to the City on the Southern Expressway. 10minutes to McLaren Vale Wineries. Great local pubs where you can get a great meal at a great price. So much history in this gorgeous little beachside hamlet.

"Cosmopolitan lifestyle on the coast."

Port Noarlunga has always enjoyed immense popularity across all demographic profiles.The Historic township exudes it's own flavour and unique charm.The residents are friendly and community minded and enjoy a relaxed and casual lifestyle.The variety of cafe's, restaurants and the upgraded Port Noarlunga Hotel provide residents and visitors alike with an abundant choice of inexpensive dining experiences.The beaches are sandy and clean and swimmers protected by the reef. The jetty and waterfront recreation facilities are undergoing significant upgrading and have always been a popular destination for visitors and locals,as is the Onkaparinga River where it meanders through to meet the sea. There is a vast diversity of housing styles in Port Noarlunga particularly surrounding the old township. Many of the older character homes have been beautifully restored and renovated. There has also been a number of newer upmarket houses and townhouses in recent times as developers have been attracted to the strong increases in median values and the ever present attraction of the idyllic seaside lifestyle.As Port Noarlunga continues to mature and develop so too will the opportunity for strong growth potential in the coming years.

"How much can you pack into 1 suburb?"

How many suburbs in Australia can boast the number of attractions that Pt Noarlunga has? Let me list them for you:
* Family friendly beach
* Surf beach
* Jetty (fishing & legal jetty jumping)
* Reef (snorkling & diving)
* River
* Huge community built children's playground
* Golf driving range
* Pub, cafes, bakery, restaurants
* Boutique fashion shops, bookstores, antiques & wellbeing
* An Arts Centre with a theatre and gallery
* 2 mins to transport hub
* 2 mins to major shopping centre
* 10 mins to world class wine region (McLaren Vale)

The only downside is its distance from the city. However with the expressway, and the express train, you can be in the city in just over half an hour. Sydney-siders would kill for this lifestyle!!

Currently the foreshore is undergoing an $8 million dollar upgrade with more restaurants and an upgrade to the SLSC. A new retail development is also happening in the town centre.

I'd say Pt Noarlunga is best suited to young families and retirees.

PS: I'm a young professional and I've lived in Pt Noarlunga for nearly 3 years.

"THE best beach in Adelaide...bar none"

You wouldn't always associate anything with Noarlunga with anything nice. However, Port Noarlunga has a lot to offer. The beach is the best in Adelaide in my opinion. It has a bit for everyone. You can go out to the reef to snorkel, you can head down the beach a bit for some great surf and if you just want to hang out the reef protects the main beach of white sands from the surf. For the fishermen, there is plenty on offer as well.

Noarlunga centre isn't far away, and there are great places to eat and drink.

The houses in the area are a bit of a mixed bag. You could find your self with something that looks like little more than a shack, but it will be beach front, or you could end up with a wonderful family home.

There is a tendency for a bit of hoon activity down this way but it has improved along with the property values as more and more people look for something close to the city.

Transport is a bit trickier out here but get to Noarlunga centre and you’re set with trains and buses.
