As someone who loves river heads but has midge bite sensitivity is it possible to live there?

River Heads, QLD 4655 is located within the null local government area, part of the Wide Bay-Burnett Region in Queensland.

Has anyone with midge allergies managed to make their home in river heads by using repellent etc or is it impossible?!

Not if you are allergic! The midges will get past the repellents at some stage and you will suffer.
