Reviews of Robertson, QLD

"Fantastic Convenient Suburb"

Recently moved in as a student from Sydney on the cusp of Sunnybank and Robertson near Mains Road. Very reminiscent of the Cabramatta area in Western Sydney. Close to all amenities (Sunnybank Plaza, Westfield Garden City amongst others), close to train stations and bus networks, quiet, fairly peaceful and very green neighbourhood. Doesn't experience the crime as much as Sunnybank and surrounding suburbs do, and only a few undesirable pockers in Robertson out near Coopers Plains way. Couple of sketchy individuals but you'd experience that in any suburb. Only real downside is the high traffic nearby which can be noisy and very congested during peak times. Love the area though :)

Looking for a home in Robertson?

"GETTO"

I have lived in this area when the houses and rooms were not rented out and people who lived here were classed as corperate and proffesionals .The properties were kept manicured. LOOK AT IT NOW! garages are turned into small rooms .Renovations were done without counsil approvals. the houses and rooms are rented out privately because it cant be regulated. The rooms are rented to anybody. A lot of dead beats and drug addicts live in these rooms because it is cheaper to live here than woodridge .The comments I have read are from overseas students who are here for a short time . They are only interested about the cheap rent ,cheap restaurants and frequent bus service. I would like to read a comment from someone who lived here before it had turned into a GETTO and who agrees with me .Not from someone who has bought a house and turned into an illgal boarding house. The houses are big but what goes inside is the big problem.

I agree that the areas of Robertson closer to Coopers Plains are all about illegal subletting/rooms for international students. Its horrid. The Council need to crack down. The areas closer to Mains Road are far nicer and very desirable

"Gorgeous homes and streets"

I’ve lived in quite a few suburbs, Robertson has to be my favourite. Living on Musgrave road definitely has its perks. You’re surrounded by gorgeous homes and trees. It’s a safe suburb to live in. Neighbors are very friendly too. Can’t beat it.

"A convenient place to live"

No so far from the city. Very good public transport (there's a bus to the city every 10 minutes). A variety of eating out options closeby including Chinese, Italian, Afgan, Indian and other fastfood options like Hungry Jacks, Mcdonals, Redrooster, Pizzahut etc. Close to shopping malls. There's QEII hospital in case of emergency. Nothing to camplain, really!

Great for

  • Transport - excellent busway to city & express to Uni of Queensland
  • Easy access to City, Uni, Schools, Food and shopping
  • Inner areas are both quiet and still close to everything - walk to the shops 5-10mins

"Good little suburb with great access to everything"

Very good suburb with a mix of everything. From students/families and student accommodation down the bottom part of the hill to some of the best presented houses on the southside of Brisbane up a bit higher. A mix of people from students, to professionals, tradespeople and retirees. Overall a very good suburb with a mix of some rented out houses, lots of owner occupiers and a few good townhouse complexes (again some for students some mainly for owner occupiers). Nice high position at the top end of the hill and very quiet (a few streets in from Mains and Kessels Roads). Best point - central to all ammenities - excellent transport facilites (approx 20mins to/from the CBD on the bus - via the busway). About 3-5min drive (or walk/bus) to Sports fields, Garden City Shopping, Hospital, Griffith Uni, Sunnybank Restaurants and Robertson Primary School. About a 7-10min ride to get on the bikeway in to the city. Buses straight to UQ/Garden City and more also run regularly.

Great for

  • Easy access to City, Uni, Schools, Food and shopping
  • Transport - excellent busway to city & express to Uni of Queensland
  • Inner areas are both quiet and still close to everything - walk to the shops 5-10mins

Not great for

  • Outer edges can be noisy along the main roads

"Great for young families and university students"

We have lived in Robertson for 15 years and found the local primary school excellent. Pity though that there are few good quality high schools in the area and therefore our children need to travel from grade 8.

The suberb has increasingly become over-run by university students and over crowding in rental houses is an issue in some streets. on the whole though Robertson is a quiet decent suberb although it could go either way over the next few years.

It is closer to the city than most people imagine (15 minutes on a normal day) and will be even better positioned once the Mains and Kessels Road underpass is constructed. It offers excellent proximity to Griffith university, QEII Hospital, Garden city and Sunnybank shops.

very handy location, close to Griffith Uni, QEII Hospital, Stadium, Garden City West Field, Sunnybank Shopping Center, Motorway. Expensive houses , beautiful safe and quiet suburb. It also has a sought after primary school there, which out of school zone parents would queue 2 nights before to enroll their kids. It is one of the most convenient best suburb in south side.
