"Ferall Ferall and dump"

Live Somewhere else there are plenty of nice areas nearby but this is probably the worst part of Salisbury and the most rough.

"Completely avoid at all costs"

Salisbury North, whilst has a lot of local needs close by, has one of the highest serious assault rates in South Australia, according to SA Police statistics. I've driven past this area a few times and noticed that a lot of things close up and pack up early, probably due to having to get home on time to avoid the rampant crime that goes on at night. There are shops and amenities nearby but I don't think that would be a pleasant experience either. Housing is cheap though.

"It's certainly a suburb."

I live in Salisbury North but, crime is rampart, D***heads are everywhere and to be honest there are much better places to live in the same price bracket.

The Crime-Rate in SN is the highest in all of the northern suburbs excluding Elizabeth and Salisbury city centers (High shoplifting numbers) and the highest assault rate than any suburb that's not Adelaide. Sapol website is proof.

"good place"

I really do not understand that why people think the places where low income family stay are the worth place! Yes you can afford a fancy houses in good areas because you are rich or you do not have to raise the family! I am so sad that people would say avoid this area because there are lots of housing truth houses ! Being poor or being disable its not their fault! why cant we stop saying those words to hurt people living in this area ?? What is wrong with you people ! have you actually live in this area? Is something happend to you ?? Come on

Great for

  • Affordable housing
  • All the facilities
  • Family orientated suburb.
  • Very close to Salisbury CBD

Not great for

  • There is still a stigma from 20 years ago when S.N. was very different.

"Only live here if your alternative is homelessness"

Living here was the worst year of my life.

Only live here if your alternative is homelessness. Also make sure you have a car, because the streets aren't safe to walk during the day, let alone at night. The few people who don't want to kill you here are cold and unfriendly. Everything closes early, and most places have thick bars over windows.

During the night there were frequent sounds of police sirens and helicopters, as well as occasional sounds of gunfire. Tantrums and domestic disputes often echoed through the streets.

Great for

  • RAAF base has only occasional flyover noise
  • Has roads to allow you to drive out of the area
  • Affordable housing

Not great for

  • Police helicopter noise
  • Lack of phone reception
  • Unsafe to walk streets
  • Crime
  • Unemployment

I have lived in Salisbury North for 15+ years and can say that it is not safe, I love the place but if I could afford to live closer to the city I probably would.
You can use the SAPOL website to check for crime-rate in a specific suburb and from what I found Salisbury North has the highest amount of assaults in all the suburbs I checked except for Adelaide (city). Salisbury north also seems to have the highest crime-rate in general for a suburb with no shopping centers and their numbers are inflated by theft/shoplifters.
These facts are current of November 2021 as that is the latest I could find, you can uses the map to check for a suburb with much less crime. Here is the link to the map.
