"Jewel in the Rockingham Crown"
I lived in Shoalwater for a few years & can say that I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. On the ocean side of Safety Bay Rd you'll find quiet streets, nicely manicured gardens & some truly magnificent homes. Strolling along the foreshore in summer is absolutely beautiful, people are friendly & the views, well they are definitely something to write home about! Dotted amongst the area are great places to eat & shop too. Area Specialist Michelle Turner Property Manager Raine&Horne Rockingham Beach

"Gorgeous area"
Having just moved into the area, I fell in love, Lake Richmond, is great for walking or riding around. Perfect area with a wide range of house styles including 2 storey properties overlooking the lake to units. Close enough to ride or walk to the beach.

"It's still Rockingham"
Honestly I think this suburb is overrated. It's still in the City of Rockingham which means you still get the 'not so nice' people and hoons driving around. I know this as I've been abused in Rockingham a few times before for no reason!
Paradise,move on
U haven't opened your eyes then
Where are you living now? Not experienced anything like that. Is the best suburb in Rockingham area!
My car has been broken into there recently is that enough evidence!
That could happen anywhere!

"Brilliant suburb. Best kept secret in WA"
Pros: Walking distance to incredible scenic beaches. To top it off, a freshwater Lake Richmond to walk or ride around. Pelicans fly overhead from the sea.
Nice & quiet to live here. Shops close by.
Only cons: are that Lake Richmond needs a better path & cycle way around it. The whole Lake is not fenced in properly from the road, which makes it look run down and shabby.
Neighbours great too.
Shhh don't tell anyone. Keep the masses away!

"Shoalwater - the Golden Triangle"
Shoalwater is a well kept scret we know it as the golden triangle perectly located near pengion island. its beautiful beaches are its biggest attraction. There a great little supermarket with an IGA, a great fish and chip shop and a well priced bottle shop. If you fancy getting out on th water there are plenty of boat ramps with plenty of parking and you can grab a bite to eat from some great little shops just across the road. The ocean is an amazing playground and if you are adventurous you can head out to seal island and check out the amazing seals sunning themselves or playing in the water. Becareful navigating the waters between penguin island and seal island in a kayak or canaoe though there can be some strong tides that will try and oull you out to sea.
A great spot for the family and you can still pick up some great buys in shoalwater old and new areas offer so many choices of housing if you wnat any information or are considering relocating to Shoalwater feel free to call me Martina Berry Director Professionals Rockingham 0432367281 or [email protected]

"Under rated"
While I still prefer Waikiki over Shoalwater, I would have to say that the rating Shoalwater has at the time I'm writing this review seems to be a bit low. For my research, and local knowledge, the schools and child care in the area is lacking for results and quality. However, you do have all the beaches and nature a person living in the suburbs could ever want. Further on the downside, the diverse nature of the housing is off putting to my family. I prefer an area where everyone is in a simular size and style of property.
Great for
- Good beaches
- Very quiet, nature all around
Not great for
- Occasional hoon
- Older high density units

"Still has holiday town feel"
We moved to Shoalwater just over a year ago. We love the 'feel' this place has. The original part of Shoalwater still has a holiday town feel to it with the big trees, big blocks and some original shacks still remaining. In contrast there are also some gorgeous big houses that have been built with spawling balconys and beautiful finishes. Like anywhere it can have problems, our friend's house got broken into not long after they moved in, but I would like to think this was an isolated case. We have always felt very safe. We love the area; the beaches are beautiful and not packed, it is quiet and you feel like you are away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Hi, my family are looking to move to Shoalwater and im hoping to enrol my children at safety bay primary, does anyone have any advice or thoughts on this please
Hi! Great to hear you liked my review, I hope Shoalwater proves to be all you desire and more.
I don't have any children and I went to Rockingham Beach Primary School so I can't comment on what Safety Bay Primary School is like unfortunately. There is also Star of the Sea which is very close to Shoalwater which is a catholic, private, co-ed school depending on whether you prefer public or private.
Good luck with it all again!
Hi Bec,
I was wondering how your experience at Safety Bay Primary school has been? I am moving to Shoalwater in Jan 2013 and my 9 year old son will be going to Safety Bay PS. Would love to know how you got on there!.
Cheers,
Shanna
I would also like to know about Safety bay primary, as we are moving to Shoalwater in February.
Just be aware of break ins. My car has been broken into here.
