Reviews of South Geelong, VIC

"Everything you need is close at hand."

Walk to the shops and the cinema in the city, or to the shops in Belmont (Kmart). Catch a train to Melbourne at the station which is a 5 min walk up the road. There is a an excellent bus service in Moorabool Street. Fyans St has very busy traffic during the day, but is mostly quiet at night. The rest of the suburb has normal suburban traffic. The suburb is full of victorian cottages, many of which are renovated and attract a good price. It is a safe area, and the neighbours are as friendly as you want them to be.There are several restaurants (including chinese, thai & mexican), a popular nightspot for the younger ones (the Barwon Club Hotel), and a couple of other good pubs (the Valley Inn and the Carrington), take away food outlets, a dental surgery, a veterinary clinic, petrol service stations, a primary school, the Skilled football stadium, a fantastic walk and bike track along the Barwon River. You can get your car serviced at any one of a variety of excellent mechanical service outlets. The Geelong Hospital and bulk billing medical clinics are within walking distance.Everything you need is close at hand.
