Reviews of Avoca, VIC
"Well-priced tranquilty only two hours from Melbourne"
We'd never been to Avoca before we bought our little house toward the end of lockdown 2020 (we'd been planning a country get-away for years). We bought it sight unseen (except for the real estate photos and videos) because it met all our needs: small town, modestly-priced houses, ≤ 2 hours from Melbs, off the main road, reliable internet, and not about to be over-run by developers. We got so much more than we expected. Super-friendly, caring, and Covid-conscious townsfolk, amazing views of the Pyrenees, an IGA with everything you could possibly need, a fancy-pants/down-to-earth (you choose) hotel restaurant, wineries up the wazoo, and the birds! Oh my gosh, the birds! It was meant to be our weekend get-away but now the tiny flat in the Melbs is our weekender.
"A nice town"
I like Avoca, and have been there a few times, I would consider it if I was able to move out that area

Anywhere around Avoca is terrific. Lovely township, small but bustling in a quiet way. The people I have met are terrific.
