Concord, NSW 2137

Concord has come a long way from its working class roots. The solidly built and well maintained freestanding family homes on tree lined blocks evoke suburbia from another time. The main shopping strip on Majors Bay Road has acquired a decidedly upmarket feel, and the other main commercial strip along Concord Road in neighbouring North Strathfield is also fairly lively. Lots of sports facilities including golf courses, and a pleasant waterfront walk. The addition of great schools makes it a 5/5 suburb for families. All that is left of the old industrial Concord is the Bushell's coffee factory - even that is now surprisingly picturesque. The only downside is the traffic along Parramatta Road, Gipps Street/Patterson Street and Concord Road. These roads meet at a spaghetti junction with the M4, which is often a traffic nightmare.

We moved last year to the area after staying in Leichardt for 12 years. Concord is a wonderful suburb with more space. Properties are situated on larger blocks and the streets are wide and spacious. The pathways are neatly kept and there is an overall sense of pride in the general upkeep. There is a local library which is well stocked, close access to parks and recreation. All amenities are close at hand. So glad we made the decision to move here!

Concord: A prestigious suburb, which is well maintained and highly regarded.

Concord is a quality suburb. There is an abundance of greenspace with many parks, sports fields, and no less than three golf courses within easy driving distance. This suburb has more greenspace than most could dream off. Plenty for kids, dog walkers and growing families. The Concord Oval is also currently being rebuilt and will feature class leading sporting facilities for the West Tigers and community. There are numerous astro-field soccer fields at Majors Bay Reserve and quality cycling links. The pathways are wide and pedestrian friendly.

Over the years this suburb has gone from strength to strength. Recent developments include completion of major transport links and now the promise of the new Metro West line. This is currently under construction and the suburb prices are set to rise even further once this is completed. It will allow commuters to get to all major commercial areas within Sydney. The CBD will be less than 15-20 minutes away and so will Parramatta (Sydney's fastest growing commercial area). This will be accessible from a metro stop at North Strathfield in the future. The area is also well serviced with other trains, buses and motorway links to all parts of the city.

If a wonderful charming village is your thing, then Concord has one of the best that Sydney has to offer! Majors Bay road offers an assortment of dining options, Coles, post office, a CBA bank branch and all the local amenities one would need.

There are many child care options for younger families and great schools close by. There is wide selection of both private and public schools and the neighbourhood is safe and very clean.

There is a sense of pride from all those who live in Concord. Over the years the prices keep rising, but this can be expected in such a well regarded suburb. If you want to keep your money safe, then this is a good bet. Stock can be very tight and it's not unusual to wait a long time to get a hold of one of these properties. As the baby-boomers downsize one can start to see some of these properties get sold, and luxury houses and new family homes replace the old Concord bungalows. Still the area maintains its charm and some of the houses are heritage protected to ensure no overdevelopment. Some of the best streets are Durham Street, Sanders Parade and Links Avenue - however there are many other great parts to the suburb.

If I think hard and had to pick something out, it's not geared for those looking for a busy night life. The restaurants are good but are not for those looking for a wild night out on the town. Having said that, this is more a safe family suburb with great options to suit many.

The people are friendly and there is an abundance of community spirit. Once a year the Concord Festival brings the community together to celebrate it's heritage and community feel. A very well balanced suburb with everything going for it. It seems many here agree!

Just take a walk down Majors Bay road on the weekend, have a coffee or dine in one of the fantastic eateries -you'll find a lovely charm all to its own.

Growing up and going to school and then working in Concord for many years, I have seen how the suburb has drastically changed over time.
With an abundance of social and recreational activities to do this is what makes Concord such a family friendly suburb.

Clean, wide and peaceful back streets surround large homes with perfectly kept front gardens or newly developed modern mansions.

Concord is known as very green overall, and its greenery comes in a variety of forms through parks, sporting grounds and its two very large golf courses that are located centrally to the suburb.

If food is what you are looking for, Majors Bay Road offers an abundance of different cuisines at different price points to suit everyone's needs.

We cant forget the kids with activities like Plaster Painting and the local library located in Wellbank Street, and sporting grounds at Greenlees Park and Majors Bay reserve.

Concord really is a family friendly suburb with many in area attractions.

This is such a wonderful suburb and so convenient. In future also the Metro West will be linking Concord to Parramatta and Sydney, making it connected to two major CBDs under 20 minutes. Also so very safe and clean.

Close to everything. Much bigger blocks compared to surrounding Sydney suburbs.
Wide leafy streets!
Good mix of people.
