Crestmead, QLD 4132

Great location. 30 mins to Brisbane and 50 mins to Gold Coast. The suburb itself has a range of facilities, parks and schools to raise a family. Crestmead business/logistics park is one of the fastest growing business hub in Brisbane.

Price up 50% in last two years, thanks to interstate buyers.

Now price is on par with Marsden or Browns Plain.
Not too much growth potential at this price range.

Also ample supply of land less than 400sqm in nearby Parkridge/Greenbank area.

Been living in Crestmead for 13 years, brought up 2 young kids and loving the location and environment. Quiet friendly neighbourhood with excellent playgrounds, dog parks and walking tracks. Berriba Wetlands is just 5min away home to large number of pelicans and other wild life.

It is in the heart of everything and easy to get around but without the hustle and bustle. During lockdown when there was a 25km radius limit for travel, I was able to take my family all the way to Victoria Point on the water or an easy drive to the winery/waterfalls at Mt Tamborine. My work is in Brisbane CBD but now work from home most days and am so glad that I have a backyard with frequent visits from the lorikeets rather than stuck in a tiny block/unit!

Have seen big changes over the years. The farms and acreages around Crestmead are turning into smaller and smaller blocks. Also noticed more and more families with young kids moving into the area. Crestmead park (next to PCYC) are always very busy on the weekends.

I lived in Crestmead for 2 yrs. It's a great suburb for doing burn outs late at night and having big parties cos everyone does it so you can get away with it.

I have been on the homely website religiously for the past 6 months, trying to get some insight on where to move in Brisbane. We have moved from country Victoria and arrived here in Crestmead 3 days ago. From what I can tell so far, socially, it's all about "where you live" in Queensland. Crestmead has a bit of a bad reputation, which was confirmed by our electrician who connected our power on day 1. "Why did you choose CRESTMEAD!?" He exclaimed with a disgusted tone.
Well, for those of you unsure about where to live, here's why we chose this suburb.
1. House prices are within budget. My partner and I are 25 & 26 and we plan on buying somewhere around South Brissy within the next two years. We have come from a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom brick home with a two bedroom granny flat for $310 a week in Victoria. I was adamant that I wanted a single story 3 bedroom home when we moved to QLD and not an apartment (personal choice). 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom stand alone one story houses (not duplex) in great condition (new-ish) are insanely hard to come by under $450/$500 per week closer to the city. That's plainly far too much to spend per week when we are saving for a house. The house we have now is absolutely perfect, clean, tidy and quite nice for just $350 per week.
2. Job prospects for my partner. My partner is a factory worker and there are a LOT of factory jobs within a 30 minute drive from Crestmead. I work in administration and haven't had many issues finding job vacancies nearby either.
3. Were really not that far from the city. Being 30-40 minutes drive south east of Melbourne CBD and you'd still be in the city. Here, it's quite a country feel which is what I prefer. We have friends closer to Brissy CBD and on the Gold Coast, so I feel like here we have the best of both worlds as we aren't too far from either.

- Visual observations of Crestmead:
The suburb has its ups and downs. There are some really rough looking houses with rubbish and unkept lawns, but then will be surrounded by nice brick houses with perfectly maintained gardens, so it's not a consistent "ghetto" look. We have seen a lot of tradie vehicles outside of houses and assume there are a lot of young families living in the area. There are a couple of houses opposite us that look a little unkept/feral, however the entire street is insanely quiet overall. We have slept with our windows open each night and I'm yet to be woken by any noises, I have also tried to listen out for traffic leaving around 8am - 9am and I can't hear a thing. We have noticed that there is generally quite a multicultural population around Crestmead, but that's not a bother for us at all. House prices for purchasing are well within reason and we feel close enough to all types of shops in this area.
There are a lot of schools nearby which sends traffic into meltdown in the small residential streets, but that can be avoided by not driving here around school times if possible. We do not have children and will obtain full time work, so can't see it being a problem for us in the future.

There are not a lot of licensed venues around (from what I've seen so far), however if we were going "out" we'd be heading into the city or down to the Gold Coast, so I don't mind that. The train line is about a 15 minute drive, so keep that in mind if you're after public transport. I think it takes around an hour to get into the city, so if you're looking to work in the CBD, then maybe a suburb closer to the train line would be better for you.

If you can get by people's initial reaction of screwing up their nose when you say you live in Crestmead (personally I don't care, because I'm really happy with this area!) then I think you'd find that it really delivers everything you need.

Crestmead is liveable and affordable. I grew up in the area and went to primary school and high school in the region.
The reason why people buy in the neighbourhood is still the same as it was when my parents bought and when I bought my first home. They can get a quality home great size property with good size land at an affordable price. The place is set up with loads of parklands, Dog walking parks, Basket Ball Parks skate parks, bike tracks. We have a Multimillion dollar parklands with boardwalks recently built close by in neighbouring Berrinba. There is schooling all around with state primary schools and High School also you have a private school as well. Loads of work opportunities with the Industrial park on our door step with some major companies and more to come.

This is unlike a lot of the affordable suburbs as the infrastructure is there with ample work opportunities. People are always willing to lend a hand.

Like all suburbs there are some less desirable areas but in general you should enjoy the stay.

Top Marks All round. Close to everything like shops shcools Major Shopping Centres, Highway, Gold Coast, Mt Tamborine. Close to Moss St. Close to train stations. Schools all around. Retirement facilities also.

People are friendly and willing to help if you know them.

Quiet area with parks and Logan Ent Centre, New Logan Sports Complex, New Park on Browns Plains Rd.

Houses in this area are underated and are cheap as the area has it all and should be selling for more but are not for some reason.

Sad to leave area

I own an investment property here and have also previously lived in the area. The people are so friendly and it has a great community feel.
Close to shops (local) and Browns Plains Plaza, buses and lots of schools, childcare and parks.
Great family suburb.

“A great place to buy your first home”
We bought our first home at Crestmead 12 years ago, & boy have we seen this area change with so many Facilities & Shopping now available. It has been a very positive experience, the neighbors are great, the street's looks really well maintained compared to where we once lived in Sydney, and it is incrediblely quiet where we live. Great area and very good value for first home buyers with some properties still selling at under $320,000. It takes me less than 30 Minutes into the City-Brisbane which is acceptable and you get used to the driver very quickly.

I have never lived a area with so many shops and services so close. There is virtually everything you need at Browns Plains, a 10 minute drive down the road. It's one of those places that has all food stores, (Nando's, Dominos, Pizza Hut, Hungry Jacks, McDonalds, & now plentiful Thai & Indian Restaurants ) all Banks, Car Accessory's. Tyre & Mechanics, Woolworths, Coles, Big W, Harvy Norman, Bunnings, Target, KMart, Coffee Club, you name it, & lets not forget Queenslands Number 1 Services Club the Greenbank RSL again, less than 10 Minutes drive.

Overall I rate Crestmead, a wonderful place to live, & have no intentions of moving any where else.

In my opinion of living in Crestmead, I find much more ant problems than any other suburb that I have lived in or visited in the Brisbane area. My neighbours also have thesame problem, in fact, it is an entirely suburb issue. The ants enter the houses, make nests inside the walls, and even under the tiles! No matter what chemicals you try to use, these little buggers are resilient to them so you have to be careful about leaving food on the table even for short periods of time because they will find it.
There is a huge local problem with young teens and young adults hooning up and down the street on illegal bikes and quads at all times of day and night, and some neighbours ( a few doors down from me) there are parties constantly, so the boom boom sound hammers into the deepest part of your brain until the party stops at around 2.30am.
For dining out. It's a joke. There are only 2 shops in crestmead, one on Julie street, the other behind the primary school. Either way, the elderly will find it very difficult to buy groceries unless they can get to the bus, which can only be accessed from Julie/Truslon rd/Bumstead rd. This is a massive problem, because it can take up to 20 minutes just to walk to the street that has a bus stop.
Overall, Crestmead is the worst suburb to live in for peace of mind from pests and noise.
