"Lovely area but be warned about mining"
Lovely heritage style houses and walkable to the CBD and great cafes nearby. It's great to walk around and just soak in the history. However be warned that the live Ballarat mine operates directly underneath and blasts up to three times a day, sometimes loud enough to shake your house.
