Reviews of Huntingdale, WA
"Quiet suburb and not bad at all."
We've just moved in and like many others we were quite apprehensive about buying here. The main hesitation comes from people constantly sharing tales of crime and drugs in this suburb. Honestly, this exists in every suburb. You need to be smart enough to work out the safer areas from the unsafe ones within the suburb. For example, anything close to Matilda st, that's a no go. Other areas, depending on the socio economic around there. Talk to the neighbours, get a feel of the area. I found this place to be quite a gem since moving and am warming up to it. Have good security systems in place and of course having a dog is a plus.

It's not that bad but it's close to a common road that's prone to some crime - Balfour st.
How about Westerham Way towards to the reserve. Is it a no go? Thanks.
How about Westerham Way off Matilda towards to the reserve? Is it a no go? Thanks.
Are there any trains development in the area?

"Cheaper but nice place."
I have been lived there for 4 years. I do like Huntingdale. Every family can own a big land with cheap price. Also we feel safe in this area, the rate of crime lower than all the suburbs surround Huntingdale. Never has been stolen even I have forgotten to lock the door. Only flaw is the internet service, NBN will delay to coming until 2019, you have to continue terrible ADSL1.

I have been reading alot online and somehow people prefer Thornlie over Huntigdale- why is that? New Train line or better suburb?
Thornlie overall has a better demographic and more amenities (Train line - which is being upgraded, 2 large shopping centers). However, this is largely reflected by the difference in suburb median value, which at the time of writing is about 5-10% higher.
"Home is in the Huntingdale Heart"
Having lived and raised my children in Huntingdale I can heartily recommend the suburb. there is the older established area progressing to the more modern and recent developed areas. Located in ease of walking or short drives to local shops and centres and serviced by public transport, schools, day care, parks and medical facilities. It is a great place to live or rent.

"A great family living suburb"
Southern River is located approx 20km from Perth CBD and has come a long way in the past few years. Originally comprising larger sized properties (sometimes with kennels, horses and animals) and now being rejuvenated with new estates. The Boardwalk has set a standard for surrounding estates with gorgeous walkways and public recreation facilities. The neighbourhood Southern River Shopping Centre is a smaller specialty centre with Coles and other shops are dotted along Ranford Road closeby. Schooling is excellent with both private and public options available.

"A leafy suburb with good neighbourly spirit"
Huntingdale is located 20km south east of Perth CBD and offers a great suburb to many. The most eastern part is the original older Huntingdale style homes right through to the western side, adjacent to Southern River, offering larger 4 bedroom 2 bathroom modern homes.
Families are very involved in community life and support the local sporting activities - you can see many locals at Sutherland Park playing or watching on the weekends. Shopping facilities are limited with a strip along Warton Road plus Huntingdale Road shops (with good takeaway options).
Take a walk along Southernwood Park and appreciate the leafy trees and chirping birdlife.

"Great all-round suburb"
Fantastic place to live! Great pathways through the parks, free BBQ facilities, close to fantastic government schools and private schools. Stroll to shops or cafe. Plenty of places to fuel up the car. New library and community facilites. Great neighbourhood. Not much to complain about really.
