have lived here for 10 years, awesome neighbours, great schools and parks. also great public transport and shops. close to the city and no traffic.

East Kew or Kew East whichever you like to call it. Even sometimes people called it ‘North Kew’ as geographically it sits on the top of the rest.
An old saying and the same saying to perfectly describe this leafy and prestigious suburb:” once you move in, you’ll stay for life”.
Kew East has lots of period homes, architect-designed homes and modern townhouses with low maintenance that attract all sorts of prospective buyers.
Parklands, golf courses, schools, local shopping districts and other amenities (eastern freeway, medical clinics, gym facilities) are a stone throw away. Price wise, it was often outmuscled by neighbourhood suburbs such as Kew, Hawthorn, Balwyn etc. These days you can really see a big upward trend on its land value, which upheld pretty well over the last 3 years. Certain pockets like Ramsay, Baker, Munro, Kew Island and Harp Junction, the price of which continue to rise and unsurprisingly they are neither cheap nor humble anymore. Among all the cousin suburbs such as Ivanhoe East, Balwyn North, Hawthorn East, Malvern East, Surrey Hills and Glen Iris etc, Kew East is definitely leading the group if not sitting in the driver seat.
For an eagle-eyed investors/buyers/developers, if value to price ratio is one of determining factors in your decision-making, before it turns out to be the best of the best, don’t let this one of the best slip through fingers.

Very family friendly and just 10 mins from City. It’s got everything you need and close to surrounding affluent areas of Hawthorn Kew and Camberwell !

Didnt like the loud parties and the high fences around every property. Hard to get to know people.

We love living in Kew East for its open spaces, abundance of parks, walkability to cafes, shops, supermarket, child care, schools, kinder, gyms, trams and buses. The lifestyle is relaxed and the area is full of friendly professional and family orientated people. Having lived here for my whole 40 years of life it has been a great place to grow up and bring up my own family. It has beautiful heritage houses and big spacious blocks and wide streets. Nightlife is very quiet- great for us. We can easily get to where ever we want to go - zoo, museum, carlton north cafes, shopping centres, Brunswick st - in a short drive. We will be here for decades to come!

We moved to Kew East from Northcote one year ago, and we have never regretted it. In fact, we feel so lucky that we were priced out of the market in Northcote, as Kew East is like a breath of fresh air in comparison. It is a quiet, safe, family friendly area, with lots of trees and beautiful gardens.

Hays Paddock is amazing. We walk our dogs there every morning before work. It is almost like being in the country, with all of the gum trees and native birds.

The house block sizes are huge in Kew East, and the houses are very good quality. People are friendly and considerate. Overall, it has been the best move that we have ever made. We are incredibly happy here and cannot imagine living anywhere else.

I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a safe, quieter area, but close to the city.

Our family moved to East Kew from the inner city 10 years ago and we're still loving it. The choice of schools is vast and the local primary school is rated as one of the best in the State, it's safe and easy to get around (no city and sports traffic), the parks are incredible and the neighbours friendly. Brunswick and Smith Streets are minutes away via the freeway and it's an easy commute into the city. Our kids have thrived living here.

A great suburb for quality built houses that are not subject to excessive seasonal soil movement, solid value of property, no termites that I have come across, and really good return on investment from renovating/extending especially around Spruzen & White Aves. Be sure to get a building report done for peace of mind.

Friendly and clean suburb, close to the schools and to transport. In the early morning the streets are filled with young children heading to school, calling out to each other and laughing, mums with prams waving hello, elderly men or women tending to their lovely gardens.On the week-ends kids are off riding their bikes or scooters or skate boards. They are allowed on the school grounds on week-ends to play and there are numerous parks with great footy and tennis and sport facilities. Kids love Hays paddock too and everyone knows who is who. Life here is safe, and community minded. School systems public or private are excellent. Streets in Kew East are minutes away from trams and bus stops and easy access to medical and sports centres, grocery shops, cafes, restaurants bakeries and more. Larger shopping centres such as Victoria Gardens or Doncaster Shopping Mall are only fifteen minutes away. It perhaps lacks the shopping facilities of Glenferrie rd in nearby Hawthorn but it is much better this way.

Have been here for nearly 10 years and in that time have experienced most of what Kew East has to offer in terms of family facilities. Great parks, walking tracks, bike tracks. The kindergartens and schools are excellent. Many nearby recreation centres offer an abundance of fitness programmes and facilities for people of all ages. Public transport is convenient and the freeway provides fast access to the city, the airport, and eastlink if you want to head further out of town. The spirit is community-minded and friendly. I hope to be here for at least another 10 years.
