Reviews of Lorne, VIC
"Perfect for a fun or a more relaxing time"
Lorne is a great place for either a fun weekend or a relaxing getaway.Beautiful beaches and affordable accomodation. Very busy around schoolies week but all in good fun. Great night life.
Good restaurants and lots of varieties. The people are very friendly and always happy to give out directions. The best restaurant is one by the pier. It consists of a seafood menu. A bit expensive but delicious fresh food

"Swanky and developed beach town"
Lorne is situated along the Great Ocean Road of Victoria and is about a two and a half hours' drive from Melbourne. The road to The Great Ocean Road is pretty straight forward. However, be prepared for bendy and windy roads on your way to Lorne and the other towns along The Great Ocean Road. It is a good idea to bring a bag for those who frequently experience car sickness.
Lorne is a beach town that offers plenty of swanky restaurants, cafes and accommodation for those visiting The Great Ocean Road. It is also a great place for surfing, fishing and visiting the surroundings of The Great Ocean Road. There is the Otways National Park, Melba Gully, Triplet Falls and etc around the area for some serious exploration. However, it is a slightly more expensive place to stay and holiday as compared to Apollo Bay.

"A small town with plenty to do"
This was a great place to visit. It had a great feel and was picturesque.
Beautiful outlook in a great location. However, it was very busy with a number of younger people while we were there. It was during 'schoolies' period which is probably the reason why, but for older people or young families it is something to consider that it will be busy with people that have recently finished school.
Plenty of shops and the obligatory fish and chips shop makes this a great place to stay. If you're looking for a seachange this could be the spot.
