Reviews of Margate, TAS
"Happiest Place in the State"
Margate is located 17 kms south west of Hobart. It is a little seaside village. The surrounding area is filled with vineyards, pasturelands and plenty of treed areas. It is a popular place to stop for tourists heading down towards the Bruny Island region. It is a thriving little town with quite a large variety of different shops. It also has a choice of both schools and churches. The Dru Point Bicentennial Park is a great place to enjoy with all the family. It is close enough to Hobart to make commuting to work possible. Although many people work locally in service industries or the Tassal fish factory or the Austal shipyard. It is the perfect place to raise a family. It was recently voted the happiest place in the state.
