Reviews of Port Welshpool, VIC
"Undiscovered Gem of South Gippsland"
Port Welshpool is a quiet retreat that offers a huge range of diversions from city life - swimming, fishing, sailing, kayaking and bush walking. It has a wide safe beach which is ideal for kids. There is a pub and general store. The town is surrounded by native bush and walking tracks, and a bike path to nearby Welshpool will be complete soon. Its easily accessible to Wilsons Prom as well as a host of other towns and recreation points such as Tara Bulga National Park and Ninety Mile Beach. A growing wine and gourmet market is developing in Gippsland, so there is lots to do.
It is now less that two hours drive from Melbourne using the Pakenham Bypass.
From a real estate perspective its very affordable at this time. There is a real possibility of an under water observatory being constructed at the end of the Long Jetty (about the longest wooden jetty in Australia).
