"Close and handy"
Risdon Vale is close and handy for Eastlands and Glenorchy shopping centres,the local shops are good .The suburb has great public transport to all major shopping centres eg: Hobart and as stated Eastlands and Glenorchy.The only thing that is of concern to me while I lived there [ 15 yrs] is the young hoons who are causing all sort of hassles eg: cars theft, unsocial behaviour. The suburb goes through a 5 year cycle of quite times and roudy. There a lot of rental properties, so that may explain the cycle .Generally Risdon Vale isa safe place to bring up little ones and a nice place to live.

Risdon Vale is pretty community orientated with the neighbourhood house often arranging events during the year.
Risdon Vale is lucky that it is located in between two of the best shopping suburbs- Glenorchy and Rosny.....
Pretty good public transport and the necessary little shops/stores one needs: butcher, baker, take away, pizza shop, hairdresser, chemist, Foodworks Supermarket and community health centre.
You get the hoons with their cars and motorbikes but tell me somewhere that you dont get this??
There is a local primary school but there are others around the area too.

with Eastlands within 8 minutes drive and local supermarkets within 2 mins this place is great! the city center is only a 15 minute drive away and average home prices are all under $300k! where else will you get this convenience...
