Seaford, VIC 3198

One of the last suburbs left in Victoria where you can escape the grind. Reminds me of happy times as a kid, walking to the beach on a summers afternoon and enjoying the small town feel. Now creating those memories for our daughter. An easy commute to the city, yet feel so far away. If you are lucky enough to secure a property on the beach side of the freeway and north of the station, you will never look back!

Love this area it has all I need (train station, beach, wetlands etc). I live between the Wetlands and the beach (both less than 10mins walk) so can choose my walking scenery everyday! This pocket is hard to find as it gets snapped up so quickly! Highly recommended for those who like walking as their daily exercise.

Having lived in Seaford for over 19 years I can first hand testify to how wonderful the suburb is. The people are friendly, there is a great mix of house styles and plenty activities to keep the children occupied. From life saving to scouts the community involvement can be as much or as little as suits you. The amenities of the area are like no other suburb. Walk the wetlands, enjoy the beach or kayak along the creek.

Nice area but unfortunately too close to neighbouring Frankston for my liking. Some lovely areas are closer to the creek.

Sunny Seaford is beautiful. A wonderful beach with shopping strip walking distance. Fantastic eateries and boutique shopping. A wonderful place to live or take the kids down for a day trip. Love it! Great schools and parks too!

Train Station to take you straight into the city plus major freeways nearby but still quiet. Most beautiful beaches in the bay with cafes, restaraunts and plenty of grocery stores. Multiple sporting grounds and the wetlands to walk through. Two large shopping centres within half an hour drive.

Where do I start? Seaford is close to all major highways such as East Link, Nepean, Frankston highway. As a professional working in city, I commuted every day from train to city and had no issues. Always got a seat on train and enjoyed my 45-50 mins commute to city resting or reading.

Living in Seaford
Beach is amazing, clean and probably best in Melbourne. Living for 4 years in Seaford, I enjoyed biking, walks along wetlands, beach and visits to Patterson lake/Carrum are at stone's throw away.

Crime
For the past 4 years, I have not witnessed any crime here some people in this site are talking about. People are nice and neighbors have been friendly or kept to themselves. This is not a late night suburb but and as a migrant living here I can attest to the friendly and accommodating nature of people here. When moving in I heard of all bikie gangs and notorious commission housing but safe say within a week these fears were dispelled as you can see all families, kids making the most of pristine beach, community places and parents/young couples enjoying their leisure time after hard days of work. The place is also LGBTIQ friendly.

Development
Seaford comes under Frankston council. From govt./council funding wise, you will find yourself mostly paying rates to fund development projects such as swimming pools & basketball courts in Franskton area which could be frustrating however these modern facilities are 10mins drive so worth taking advantage of. The railway crossing removal project could open up more public spaces.
The beach side suburb however has attracted a great deal of investment from private players. Take a stroll along the Nepean and you will see an array of new apartment projects currently underway that are in process of transforming the whole area. New cafes, restaurants are to soon follow suit.

Eating out/Shopping
Seaford seaside beach cafe is great. You have all major supermarkets (Woolies, Aldi, Richies) and Indian grocery stores in nearbly carrum down burbs. Restaurants opposite the beach are good. There aren't many to my liking but adequate to cater for chinese, indian, thai, spanish taste buds. The bayside shopping center in Frankston is very close for all merchanise shopping/movies. Nearby Karingal shopping center also offers good shopping and movies.

Summary
I love it! If you can afford to buy then get in before it becomes a million dollar burb like how other Melb beachside suburbs have become.

Lived in Seaford twice 1st time was great few minutes walk to the beach 1 min walk to wetlands neighbors were friendly, 2nd time not so good closer to Frankston north still classified as Seaford Absolutely wouldn’t recommend junkies,aggressive,Crime,Graffiti I call the area kananook, I would Rather live in the pines at least I would expect it then!

I lived in Seaford for four years on Nepean highway. The place has come a long way since then with smart property developers seeing the potential and buying in. Not sure what crime people are talking about but I'm guessing it's in the dodgy belvedere park part of Seaford. Beach, creek views, shops etc. also has heaps of primary schools. Loved it here
