Surfers Paradise, QLD 4217

Surfers Paradise, World renowned for it's wonderful beaches, with golden sand and welcoming atmosphere. The are loads of eating out and shopping options around Cavill Mall and the nightlife there is excellent. There is a significent amout of traffic since its the main city in the Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise is pretty safe in the morning but nightime is a different story. It's pretty clean and green and the parks are excellent. It's pretty hard to find a parking space on public holidays, due to the roads being busy it's mostly noisy in central Surfers Paradise but it is more quiet towards the outskirts of the city like Paradise Waters, Cronin Island, Chevron Island and Isle of Capri.

The beach and immediate waterfront is great. The rest is appalling. I couldn’t believe how dingey and feral the place is. On the upside, if you want to buy drugs or get in a fight with a drunk bogan I am sure they are easily accessible

My sister lives here, i stay with her every few months. The ambience from the city truly makes me feel alive. I cant wait to revisit soon.

The Northcliffe End of Surfers Paradise is absolutely gorgeous.

I hope to move there permanently in coming years.

I have lived here for 10 years and wow has it changed. Give it another 5 years and the Luxury Real-estate market has well and truly taken over.

Just about every new project being built starts at the 3 million dollar mark for an apartment. So it will be interesting to see the empty tenancies that are slowly but surly filling throughout the city.

Not to mention the new ocean way path right along the front of the beach. The new and improved paradise Centre.

The place is dirty and unsafe

Like the title suggests, I enjoy Surfers very much during the day. It is very convenient as we live across the road from shops and Cavill Ave.

The weather is mostly beautiful. The night markets are a must try if you come here.

However, we've lived here for almost 2 years and the noise levels most nights of the week, but more so on weekends are ridiculous.

If it isn't hoons and people riding scooters up and down at late hours until 3AM, it will be the music blaring from bars and nightclubs as the young kids get drunk or bogans screaming in the street all night. Surfers is plagued by addicts and bogans, but I keep to myself when I go out.

There's obviously no concern for the residents. I already have sleeping problems and that makes it worse.

It is only a family environment until around 8pm, when you can already see drunks staggering down the Boulevard. I don't feel safe going out at night unless I am in a group.

The upside is that rent is reasonable depending where you go.

Everything is mostly within walking distance if you live in the centre of Surfers.

All together, it's a mixed bag for me. Hopefully I will move eventually but it's not all bad.

Public transport, cafes, shops, entertainment everything you need

People are nice

We used to live there. Though it's not so ideal for kids to live in this area, especially when you live in an apartment building, but it was great to have the best beaches just in short walk distance. Cavil Avenue full of different type of restaurants and shops and entertainment. Markets, Sand art and other entertaining events are organised very often.
