Reviews of Woree, QLD
"Very convenient location"
There are good streets and not so good streets in Woree. Before buying, check out the neighbours and how they look after their homes or see if units are well maintained. Look for areas where there are mostly working people. I did a few drive-bys at different times of the day and evening to see what the street was like prior to buying. When you buy, make sure you have good security screens and somewhere to lock up your car. Once you find the place that suits you, it's a great place to live. So convenient to business, services and medical facilities, public transport, as well as a very short drive to the CBD. My neighbours are a mix of working, retired and families, with a few unemployed and some social housing nearby which is well
maintained. It's an affordable suburb to buy a house or unit and renovate. Don't buy on main roads or close to pubs and liquor shops.
"wonderful woree"
great place to live only minutes fron major shopping centres, doctors, amenities. 5 minutes from city centre, minimal traffic, great area, good house prices on large blocks. Dont overlook Woree or you will miss a great opportunity and investmaent. The prices are the top performer at present in the Cairns area.
Great for
- Close to city
- Close to shopping centres
- Centre of everything
Not great for
- Nothing

"Noisy and unsafe"
Well what can I say about Charlotte Close? It is a disgusting dead end street with loads of traffic especially on Thursday night when the hoons like to do burnouts out the front of McDonalds. I was broken into once and have had to call the police at least 10 times in the last 2 years. I would not recommend anyone with children move anywhere near this street. I have just gotten out of a Birchwood Terrace and I thank god everyday that I do not live in the 'ghetto' anymore. I would be woken up every weekend at 2am, 3am etc with people fighting on the streets. People use that road as a drag strip daily. There are also hundreds of rats climbing along the fence, street and your backyard. FILTHY FITHY HOLE!
Thank you Pony for reminding me of what type of trash comes out of Woree. I am even more glad that I am out of there after reading your comment. Have fun in the ghetto.
PS. Pony. Why don't you take yourself to the city and buy yourself a dictionary if it's so close.
Like a lot of places, there are good parts of Woree and there are not so good parts. Somewhere like Windarra street is a nice area - trouble-free, attractive and close to all amenities as well as close proximity to the city.
What about Alfio street?
When I was looking for a place to buy, a real estate agent said Charlotte Close wouldn't suit me as an older retiree. It pays to do your research and ask questions before buying. Woree can be a good place to live, but choose carefully.
Im looking at a place in Cavanagh street, but Im in Tassy and have no idea bout Cairns. Can anyone tell me about it? Id much appreciate it.
If you dont like the area move you scanky bum out of the nieghbourhood you will not be missed.
The Woree area is very close to the city and you may not like the area but you dont need to sling off because you have personal issues. leave town you miserable cow.
