Swann Road, Indooroopilly, QLD 4068

Swann Rd is handy but it is a very busy through road linking Moggill Rd through to the university of Qld and Brusbane CBD. It experiences regular traffic congestion from Moggill Rd backed up past Burns Rd in the evenings. It has some vwry dangerous intersections especially the one at the corner of Central Ave where where there are regular traffic accidents (at least fortnightly). As a pedestrian it is also very dangerous to cross. It is dangerous to walk down to the Coles also with a narrow railway bridge crossing and cars entering and exiting the Coles driveway while you are trying to cross. Local residents have lobbied for changes for years with limited action.

I lived at 57 Swann Road, it is a fairly busy road especially in peak hour as it runs down to the University of St Lucia which is on a peninsula. Living in the area is convenient if you work in Toowong, you can walk, ride or drive there fairly easily plus there are nearby train stations at Taringa and Indooroopilly. The shopping centre at Indooroopilly is one of the largest in Brisbane and has everything you could want.
The mix of people in the area is great, there are families, uni students, professionals - the lot!
St Peter's Lutheran college is nearby which has a good reputation as a private co-ed school.
The fish and chip shop in Taringa is great, its at the big junction on Swann Road, busy on the weekend.
Moggill Road at Taringa has a Dentist, Restaurants and a number of other shops, they are building a few new shops as well.
A growing area that should do well for an investment as well I think.

For anyone who studies at The University of Queensland and works at the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, then Swann Road is the perfect place. It is a major road, but it not really that busy at all. There are a lot of great houses and apartment buildings.

Swann Road is built on a ridge and all the off roads are on a huge slope, so be prepared.
