Ruffey Park is great for a bbq i have had attended a few there myself...but i much prefer George street park..its still Ruffey lake but the play equipment there is better suited to younger children which suits me a little more as my kids are 4 and 2

My kids like George St also, great playgrounds with lots of tanbark in case they fall over! I do remember seeing a snake once at Ruffey Park around near the Victoria St play area.
