Traralgon, Warragu, Trouin or other towns are best

Retired (56) and moving to Victoria from Canberra. Love the small towns, mountains etc. Born in Wagga and I don't like Canberra much. Spent a week in Traralgon last week and loved it (structured like Wagga). I know some east parts of Traralgon are not good (looked at some houses there). The CBD area of Traralgon was great. Of the towns I've mentioned, generally, what are the decent areas for someone retired, with a motorbike, very active, maybe to do some work etc? I know every town has bad areas, Wagga has Ashmont. But some general advice would be appreciated. I'm probably heading back there later this week.
