"Rented here, break ins. Avoid."

Break ins were growing when we rented here. Lots of people commented. Kids out at night causing trouble. Low lying by the water, probably better off looking somewhere up high?

"Close but no hurrah"

This is such a nice area but there are a few negatives that we just couldn't get over in the long run. It's a shame, but hey, you can't have it all!
1) Catchment is Pacific Paradise, most probably the worst primary school on the coast. Great if you're a proud bogan and are happy for your kids to underachieve in life. Coming in at 2nd worse would be Maroochydore State, the next closest public school. Private schooling is hence imperative and the drive is a pain. 2) Midges are rather fierce and made life for my 4 year old hell as the little blighters are particularly attracted to him. 3) You need a car. There's no getting around that one. 4) Alleged trapped bull sharks ruin it for the rest of us. 'Water, water everywhere, nor any drop to swim'. 5) The golf club membership will be too expensive, especially after shelling out for the private schools.

Worst school on the coast. Your a dreamer. I've had two generations go through there with very high achievements. Don't blame the school. They are great.

"Beautiful, quiet family friendly area"

Twin Waters is a beautiful place to live and is so convenient to beaches, shopping, schools, parks, etc. When we first moved to the Sunny Coast we lived on the "south side" in Meridan Plains/Currimundi area but always hated the hectic drive of Nicklin Way (or Bruce Hwy) when trying to get the kids to school. Up on the north side of the Maroochydore bridge, Twin Waters sits quietly, with minimal people, traffic and noise and and allows such easy access to the highway, and our children's school at Immanuel Lutheran College - just a 5 - 10 minute drive up the highway is a breeze!
We love it here and the kids are always out enjoying the pool or their yard and just "being" and enjoying everything the Sunny Coast has to offer. We love our neighbour - though not sure how much she loves the madness of our 3 child household! Great crab fishing in the canal just a wander through the trees away and a very easy couple of minute drive to lug the kiddies and dog to North Shore beach....Love it!

Great for

  • Local Twin Water's Resident's Association has a strong membership and a very robust interest in the area, ensuring the area and its amenity is well looked after now and into the future!
  • Quiet and friendly suburb
  • ADSL 2+ readily available
  • Fantastic parks and exercise paths and circuits
  • Very friendly culture everyone looks out for each other but private at the same time.

Not great for

  • Not much local transport except for taxis and limited bus service unless you go to David Low way which is reasonable close

So what do you think about the mozzies, midges and planes from the airport.

sharonl6

Despite the apparent "fear" of these 3 specific things, that often come up in conversations about Twin Waters, none of them outweigh the advantages of the location in my opinion...
1. The Mozzies...We experienced far worse mozzies in the Meridan Plains/Currimundi area whilst renting to be honest...they get a bit annoying when it's rained a heap but we've never been chased by swarms up here on the paths like we were south side!
2. The Midgies...again, a little annoying at certain times but not so bad I hate living here because of them. I've heard there are certain times of the month/lunar cycle that they breed more readily so this may explain why the school Mum's all generally complain around the same time about being "eaten alive" despite being in Buderim, south side or north side. Anyone who doesnt like midgies should perhaps live on the Gold Coast where concrete covers nature!
3. The Planes...they don't bother us at all! Something you get very used to - the birds are quite honestly noisier throughout the day than the planes. The airstrip is apparently being moved/re-directed at some point too, so Mudjimba will be more prone to the aircraft noise in the long term. It doesn't bother us either way
though.
I hope this has helped. It's all a matter of personal opinion and priorities. We love having the pool and yard and being super close to the school and CBD without the traffic hassles we had south end. Being mid Sunshine Coast, north side of the bridge allows flexibilility and ease of living in truly beautiful surrounds!

"Well established quality lifestyle suburb where locals are proud of where they live. Close to the beach and river"

Twin Waters is an excellent location for those wanting a great near the beach lifestyle close to the night life of Mooloolaba if you want to enjoy the area but dont want the holiday traffic at Xmas etc. Very safe location for families with lots of parks, walking tracks and beaches or the river all close at hand. The suburb has been a well established location with quality homes ranging in price from the $400000 to over the $1million The suburb is always beautifully maintained giving a high quality appearance to all visitors to the suburb. Twin Waters is a leafy beachside suburb on the Maroochy river so is ideal for the surfer with Mudjimba and Marcoola beaches close by and the Maroochy river at your back door for the keen fisherman with a local boat ramp of Nojoor rd to launch the boat or jet ski . This suburb offers such a diverse lifestyle for all ages from the young family wanting a great family suburb or the Young at heart wanting a quiet lifestyle. The golfers will be right at home with the fabulous Twin Waters championship golf course at your back door or maybe you just want a good coffee and a chat with a friend, there are many local cafes providing lots of variety with tasty sweets or great meals to choose from. As a local you will soon start to appreciate what a great suburb Twin Waters is for you to call home , just like that comfy shirt it just feels right.

"Twin waters -Close to all amenities."

Twin Waters is on the sunshine Coast of Queensland just north of Maroochydore and is fast becoming a one of Queensland’s top tourist destinations. The area boasts world class resorts as well as international golf resorts. There are water sports of all kinds including swimming, surfing, diving and snorkeling. Twin Waters is only minutes away from great shopping, restaurants and entertainment as well as bars, cafes and array of services and other amenities. Twin Waters is only 5 mins drive to the Sunshine Cost Airport. Real Estate prices in the area are high due and not generally suited to the first home buyer.

"Mudjimba -great place close to all amenties."

Mudjimba is situated between Maroochydore and Coolum on the Sunshine Coast. This beachside town is right on the beach the only thing separating the beach and the town is a road. Great for fishing this beach is ideal for swimming, surfing and diving. There are convenience shop, a caravan parks as well as the Apex camp which caters for school groups, church groups and sporting groups. Mudjimba has some good property deals but because of its location is staring to become more expensive. Being only minutes from the main center of Maroochydore where there are major shopping centers and medical facilities.
