Zillmere

"Convenient. Well priced. Improving."

We have lived on Church Rd Zillmere for 7months in a unit complex. We own. We moved from Everton Park.

PROS

- Convenience!!Convenience!!

- Area is definately on the UP & improving.

- Some new improvements to O'Callaghan park

- Excellent library. Great for families with young children - storytime etc. Clean, modern + secure.

- Easy, quick access to IGA, Woolworths & Coles & assorted grocers like Indian, Pacific island etc

- Easy & quick access to buses and train station that goes into City.

- 16km approx 25min drive to the city.

- 6 min drive to Carseldine Farmers Market

- 12 min drive to Nundah Farmers Market

- 4km / 10 min drive to Chermside Shopping Centre, Aquatics Centre, Chermside Library etc.

- Very convenient to the beach. Sandgate & Shorncliffe are only 10min drive

- Fantastic small swim school for kids. This has been excellent for our under 2yr old.

- Excellent, massive playing fields at O'Callaghan Park - Football, Soccer, Skate Park, Basketball Court.

- PYCY 24hr gym also having upgrades and reasonable prices.

- Lots of houses getting full renovations

- 5 min drive from Hidden World Playground in Fitzgibbon

- 7 min drive from Fitzgibbon bushland which is a great walk + community centre and cafes there.

- Diverse community

- Very close to Virginia Bunnings & industrial area that has everything you could possibly need e.g mechanics, electrical, bathroom shops, flooring specialists etc. Super convenient.

- 5 min drive from exclusive Nudgee College

- Big old Poincianas line the street.

- Very quiet at night 96% of the time.

CONS

- Has a bad name. But honestly it has not lived up to it in the time we've been here.

- I've heard someone yelling & swearing at around 11am X twice in the 7 months we've been here.

- Bad traffic/Parking situation on Church Rd. Not enough adequate parking for apartment blocks and council should really address this.

- a few weirdos walking around late at night. I wouldn't leave my car out on the road with valuables in it. That said none of my neighbours that do have had any problems.

- a few properties looking pretty shabby but they are the minority

- a few too many apartments. Any more and noise, parking will become and increased issue. Council really need to becareful of this.

- The playground at O'Callaghan Park needs to be improved & repaired. It gets a lot of use.

- Some noise at nights from people listening to their TVs too loudly or talking loudly.

Who lives here?
