East Perth

"Peaceful east perth"

East Perth is in general a really peaceful suburb given its close proximity to CBD. Lots of apartment buildings so mostly composed of young professionals. If you live on the main street it can be a bit noisy but no street noise at all if your apartment at the back of the building. Lack of shopping is one downside as you would either have to go into city or drive to other suburbs. But overall I enjoyed living in East Perth and thinking that it is esp good for singles, couples and young families.

Yokine

"Great suburb"

Yokine is a really safe, peaceful and convenient suburb. Being only 7km to city it takes very short time to get into city either by driving or public transport (which is great in Perth standard). The streets are very clean and neat, a mix of renters and home owners and everyone is friendly. Areas near the golf club is perhaps the best part of Yokine and it is a really nice walk around that area, with nice city view.

Brunswick East

"Convenient for everything"

We lived in Brunswick East for less than a year but really enjoyed the suburb. It is so close to everything, shops, cafes, restaurants. Public transport is excellent with two tram lines. We felt very safe walking on the street at any time as it is just busy and vibrant even at night. Short stroll to merri creek with the lovely walking / cycling trails. Rent wise it is very reasonable compared to the south and eastern suburbs that has the same distance to city, and is therefore particularly good for renters.

Moore Street

"Excellent location with public transport and green space"

Moore Street has two parts so can really only comment on the eastern part (east of Nicholson). This part of Moore Street is a no-through road and therefore very quiet and peaceful. It is so close to a lot of green areas with Campbell Reserve and Merri Creek at doorstep. There is a mix of renters and long-term residents on the street and has a great neighbourly feel. Everyone is super friendly. A short walk to two tram stops which is a great bonus for those working in city. Overall really love it here!

Coburg

"Brunswick with a suburban feel"

We live on the border of Coburg and Brunswick East and just love it here. It is quieter and more spacious than Brunswick East but still get a bit of its trendy and hipster style. Public transport is excellent and merri creek is at doorstop. People are very friendly and lots of them are long-term residents/owners. Lots of shops and restaurants. This area is esp. good for those who work in city.
