"My Island Home"

I moved up to the Gold Coast from Sydney and we rented in Varsity Lakes for about 2.5 years before purchasing our Island Home on Azzurra Island in Varsity Lakes. In both locations we enjoyed beautiful water views, lush green Palm Trees and gardens and access to an amazing bike/walking track that goes all the way around the lake. The lifestyle is fantastic for young families, plenty of parks, great coffee shops and friendly neighbours. We are only a 5 minute drive to Robina Town Centre which is a fab shopping centre with great restaurants. We are a 6 to 8 minute drive to Burleigh Beach and all of the amazing bars, cafes, shops and coastal restaurants in Burleigh.
Varsity Lakes is very peaceful for the most part, you wake up to the birds and go to sleep with the crickets. At times you do hear a few hoons in cars at night but it seems to be off in the distance. If you like to socialise with your neighbours and have drinks on the driveway while your kids play together this is definitely a popular Friday night activity or if you choose to have a few friends over and socialise in your own home there are never any complaints. Most people in Varsity are happy to live their lives and do their thing and let everyone else do the same.
The schools in the area are fantastic, there is alot of choice and access to schools outside the area if you find others that suit better through excellence programs via application. All in all a great area, great people and great lifestyle.

Rentals in Varsity Lakes

"Perfectly located"

Have lived in Varsity Lakes for 5 years, it's such a perfect location, that's still relatively close to the beach (less than 5km). It's still relatively affordable, although that is changing due to other areas closer to the beach becoming much more expensive. There are many great schools either within the suburb or 15 minutes away. Close to Robina Town Centre, a 10 min drive to Pacific Fair Shopping Centre. It's only a couple of minutes from the M1, allowing you to zip to Gold Coast airport or an easy 1-hour drive to Brisbane. Plus you have the advantage of Varsity train station as well. There are plenty of parks and a multitude of cafes in the area as well as supermarkets such as Coles, Aldi and IGA. The southern side of Lake Orr is older and has more space if that's what you're after. It's generally pretty quiet and very family orientated. It

"Varsity Lakes... simply awesome"

Close to everything. Hospital, Robina Town centre, top schools, Bond Uni, train station, lakes, bike and walking track, 10 min to beach, 20 min to airport. Its a cut above and central Gold Coast, wouldn't live anywhere else.

"Absolute Bliss - Lakes, Walking Tracks and Shopping Village"

Varsity Lakes is an amazing middle class suburb with everything you could possibly want or need at your doorstep.

Varsity Lakes is built on beautiful lakes filled with lucious green park land, features a trendy shopping village and beautiful parks at every corner. There are beautiful tree lined streets and character filled modern homes.

My husband and i moved to the Gold Coast from Sydney a year ago and never looked back. Varsity is 5 minutes from the beach and a huge shopping centre and is absolutely beautiful.

LOVE

"Varsity Lakes - So close to your neighbours you may as well live in an apartment building"

I have recently moved to Varsity Lakes after living in apartment buildings for several years. Although I was hoping buying a house would rid me of the issues related with “close neighbours”, it has in fact accentuated it, and now without the ability to use body corporate or building management as an in between. You will find your new home in Varsity will be accompanied by 2 or more air conditioners that will back onto your property, guaranteeing not a wink of sleep as these things rattle and hum all night long and in some cases 24 hours a day..... and I thought everyone was crying about expensive electricity now!? Regardless of being told it is a quiet neighbourhood Varsity is riddled with people who have no regard for their neighbours and happily party away into the night playing loud noise, talking and laughing up to 3 nights a week. And no, they are not Bond Uni students. Varsity is overrated and overpriced. You pay too much for small blocks of land. Look in Robina or somewhere where your house has some land size and your neighbours are not in arms reach.

"Really convenient location - Very nice community"

Have lived here for 5 years in two different homes in Varsity Sound. Just love this area. Great for young families. Community spirit is great. There are many really lovely walking tracks around the lake and bushland areas and this suburb is close to so many handy places including Robina Town Centre, train station, Burleigh Beach & Stocklands, Christine Corner (convenience galore!), TreeTops Shopping Centre, many fitness centres, M1. 5 stars from me for this suburb. Great place to live.

"Ideal spot on the Coast!"

Varsity Lakes has Robina Town Centre on one side, Burleigh Beach on the other & boasts a newly created train station, great schools, great restaurants in the CBD area. It's close to everything with only a 5 minute drive to the Gold Coast Highway. 20 minutes to Coolangatta Airport, 20 minutes to Surfers Paradise and easy access to the M1 to head to Brisbane for work!

"good to rent too expensive to buy"

Nice enough, though over rated.Bond uni close by so if you like uni students hooning round at night around ALL the round abouts on university drive, knock yourself out.Traffic bad on week days .Our neighbors are friendly and street nice.Have lived here for 4 years and wow has it grown.Too busy for us now,so we are moving out of the area.Four years ago there was a nice element too the street, now though, there seems to be alot of selling going on and just riff raff moving in or uni students moving in.

"Varsity Lakes"

Varsity Lakes appears to be becoming another BOOM area of the Gold Coast. The new railway and station has just opened and there are future plans for further rail extensions to the south towards the NSW border. A local Police Station has just opened to increase their presence in the area. Schools and public transport are plentiful (both public and private) and loads of public transport. A great area for all types but expecially for families due to the numerous parks and boardwalks around the lakes which is great for getting the kids out and about. Still a very affordable location yet less than 5 minutes to the beach.

"Varsity has cheap new homes!"

Varisty lakes has cheap new homes with good rental returns from university students. Bond university recieves new international students every semester that are eager to find accomodation close to uni.

Now Varsity lakse has become commercial/residental with new commercial/retail developments popping up all over varsity. Many businesses are basing themselves there and restaurants and cafes too!

Property prices vary from $30000+ for units $400000+ for houses/townhouses

"Varsity Lakes - Inland from coast but close to all amenities"

Varsity Lakes is a suburb of the Gold Coast and whilst not directly on the coast it is only a short drive to the famous Gold Coast beaches. Varsity Lakes is close to the Robina Shopping Town with supermarkets and specialty shops but yet is only minutes away from the major shopping centre of Pacific Fair where there is not only great shopping but a cinema complex as well. Accommodation is the area is plentiful with many hotels and motel, although home prices have skyrocketed. Varsity Lakes is within half an hour of the major theme parks of Dreamworld, Movieworld, Wet’n’Wild or Seaworld.
