Yes, although really you want to be on the beach side of read street, the area the other side of read street is a little less safe due to the high amounts of homeswest etc in cooloongup and warnbro which border it.

I've lived on the west side of Waikiki for 5 years & have not had any problems whatsoever. You may get the odd car hooning down Willmott Drive & sometimes parties on weekends, but any incidents in the area are discussed/reported to the Waikiki Community FB page, with neighbours looking out for each other. If you go looking for trouble I guess you could find it, but I walk my dog at night and have not come across any problems at all.

Is willmot drive a bad area?

My RHS fence borders Willmott Drive (I live near the Family Hospital end) and I honestly haven't had any issues in 7 years (not 5 as mentioned above)! My dog would probably attack any one who was stupid enough to jump into my yard but that hasn't happened and honestly am not really worried it will. Sometimes you get the odd loud motorbike or car speeding fast, sometimes sirens too, but these aren't every day (or even weekly) mostly its quite peaceful.
