Wanneroo, WA 6065

Wanneroo is a vibrant northern suburb of Perth situated 25 kilometres north of Perth's central business district. It’s only a 12 minute drive to pristine beaches and the magnificent Indian Ocean, a 35 minute drive to Yanchep National Park where you can get to meet some native fauna and revel in the natural WA bushland. It’s simply a 5 minute drive to Lake Mariginiup and a mere 25 minute journey to the Swan Valley, where you can enjoy the fabulous scenery, local wineries and fresh local produce.

Another big advantage of living in Wanneroo is the access to the many surrounding parkland areas. Local facilities and attractions include: Wanneroo library, Wanneroo Recreation Centre, Aquamotion, the fabulous The Limelight Theatre and enjoy eating out in the many cafes and restaurants, especially the popular Café Elixir.
Your shopping options are excellent in Wanneroo with its close proximity to Lakeside Shopping Centre in Joondalup, arguably one of Perth’s best shopping malls with over 300 stores, plus cinemas and restaurants. Add to that you have Wanneroo Central Shopping Centre, Wanneroo Markets and Drovers Market Place to enjoy in the suburb.
The children’s education has been well catered for with local schools: East Wanneroo Primary School, Wanneroo Primary School and St Anthony's Catholic Primary School and Wanneroo Senior High School.

With close to five thousand homes, Wanneroo has a population of almost 12,000 residents with the local government area being the City of Wanneroo. Wanneroo began as an agricultural area and the country feel remains with many market gardens still in existence. It’s well renowned for the strawberry picking farms and many families delight in introducing their children to this fun and tasty pastime.

Wanneroo has very diverse homes ranging from new smaller cottage block homes to huge exclusive properties situated on acreage. Some areas of Wanneroo, such as Regent Waters’ estate, feature many prestige properties within a very close knit family friendly community.

The Wanneroo Agricultural Show is held annually within Wanneroo and is the state's largest Regional Agricultural Show.

Great suburb for young families. Awesome kids facilities, nice wide open spaces, huge block sizes and shops have all the essentials and some close by.

Lived in Wanneroo for 20 years. Never had any problems with crime. Everything you need for a great community Is in Wanneroo . Excellent Library, great shops, top medical centre. There are beautiful parks as well as bike and walking paths along Wanneroo Lake. Plenty of schools both public and private. Great sporting clubs, and Aqua-motion is a very good complex for swimming and fitness. The suburb has developed into a very modern liveable area with middle to high income family's enjoying all the other little extras like free community concerts, festivals and the annual Wanneroo show. A fun place to live.

Most suburbs of the city of Joondalup are usually pretty friendly but Wanneroo is the complete opposite gives a real hills vibe which you could love or hate

love the fact that it is only a 10 min drive west and you are at the beach, and a 5 min drive to the east and you are in the 'bush'. With 4 primary schools, High School, day care centres and the Shopping Centre within a 5 min drive, it is perfect for families. Many eating out options close by with Cafes, Steakhouse and Thai & Chinese restaurants all centrally located. The area is constantly updating while retaining some of it's historical beauty. I highly recommend it.

We live in the Regent Waters are of Wanneroo and find it very peaceful and safe for families. Equally there are also couples and retirees within the area. It's nice to walk around the suburb as everyone attends to their gardens and the standard of presentation is very neat. We have great neighbors and know most of them in the street. There's lots of lovely parks and playgrounds and there is a wonderful lookout over lake Joondalup with a nearby bridge over a pond with ducks & other waterbirds - which is a nice area we can walk to and get close to nature. You can cycle or walk along Scenic Drive to Rotary Park which is an amazing playground for kids with bbq facilities and lots of shade. We have easy access to Ocean Reef road and so it is a quick ride to access the freeway.

Me & my partner bought our house in wanneroo last year. We're close to Wanneroo high school and our street is very quiet. We were in scarborough before we moved and although i miss being closer to the city and beach it is so much quieter here. The neighbours have either been friendly or kept to themsleves which is fine with me - no noise. There's a small park down the road from us which i can take the dogs to and the shops are close enough to walk or are a quick drive when I do my weekly shop. Eating out options aren't bad - there are a quite a few restaurant and take away choices on wanneroo road. The buses are ok but it's a bit of a drive to the city so I usually drive to edgewater train station and park there. There's always plenty of parking. The aquamotion rec centre is just down the road - I haven't been yet but have heard good things. I'd be happy to have kids here as there are plenty of places to go and parks to play at and there seems to be quite a few families with young kids around.

Dodgy, cheap, nasty, unsafe environment. To pag123 below, it's actually a 50 minute drive to the city with no peek hour traffic. Horrible.
