"Old school feel but has it all!"

Wauchope is a great place to call home. Family friendly neighbourhood, great schools, trendy little boutique cafes and homewares/clothing shops, a large variety of many shops unlike what you usually expect of a somewhat country town and of course about 3- 4 pubs/clubs! Tends to get a little busier these days, but come visit on a weekend and its as quiet as anything like the good old days. Port Macquarie and its famous beaches are just a casual 20 minute drive away.

"Friendly Community"

Still offering the feel of a smaller regional town where you can walk the street & run into people you know. The town has some great smaller boutiques for shopping, but also only 20mins if you want chain stores in Port Macquarie. Offering a mix of older homes and brand new estates, and both public & private schools. Wauchope is also gateway for the Hastings Hinterland, including the Oxley Highway and other National Parks.

"Don't want to live anywhere else"

I'm originally from port Macquarie but when we decided to have kids we moved out to wauchope. It's quiet and peaceful and a fantastic place to raise a family. It's country, but your only 15 minutes away from port where there is great shopping and beaches. I literally feel like you get everything you need and want here!

"Great Country Town"

We moved from Sydney to Port Macquarie to start with. With the birth of another child the house became too small so we began to look around for something bigger. We jumped at the chance to live in Wauchope. We'd been here for the Farmers' Markets, Wauchope Agricultural Show, movies in the Wauchope Arts Hall, Wauchope Quilt Show & Lasiandra Festival. Been here for wonderful breakfasts on a lazy weekend, coffee in the park and how can I not mention shopping, especially the Hastings Co-op Department Store!

Now we live here and absolutely love it. The kids love the school and are doing really well. We both work in Port, but it's nice to be able to come home to this country town with it's friendly people.

Hi, what school do you send your kids to? Is it a public or private school? Our main reason for considering Wauchope is hopefully to be close to a great public country school so any information would be useful.
