Wentworth Point, NSW 2127

I live at the one waterfront apartment complex. It is the noisiest and most claustrophic place I have ever lived. Theres no sense of community whatsoever and every second person has annoying botox lips, an annoying dog and an even more annoying child. I am only renting cant wait to leave I pity the fool that bought an apartment here!

Wentworth Point has an astonishingly high population density for a suburb which is literally served by one road in and out (which isn't technically even in the suburb). Driving on that one road is a nighmare, yet it has no rail transport, just buses or the ferry (which still takes 1 hour to the city). What's more, the north and south of the suburb are not accessible to each other. It might be better when they finish developing the suburb, but by then it will probably be crammed even fuller of highrise blocks. It has a waterfront, but this section of riverbed is toxic so you can't really make any use of the water other than to take the ferry. The suburb has many redeeming qualities, such as access to sports facilities in Olympic Park, not being too far from either Western Sydney centres like Auburn and Parramatta or the Inner West, and a shopping centre with an array of very useful shops. However (other than the shopping centre) to get to any of that you still need to be able to get out of the suburb!

With a marina, light rail, peninsula park, high school and nearby metro station all in the pipeline, this suburb will only get better.

This suburb has been over developed. It was nice at first but they should of kept a height limit of all buildings to 6 storeys. Now it's too dense, ugly and chaotic looking. And they're still building.

I live in one of the newer apartments near the water and have no complaints - Wentworth Point is clean, quiet, convenient, safe, and has plenty to do. Lots of options to eat out, several late-ish dining options, and you rarely have to leave the area for something - there's a Coles, Priceline, asian mart, hairdresser, spas, library, mobile phone stalls...it's quite the one stop shop. If you like Asian food, this is an excellent area. People here are (in my opinion) friendly, but not uncomfortably friendly - they'll smile and make some pleasant small talk, but I'm not getting neighbours knocking on my door to borrow ten bucks like I did in Potts Point. (I consider this a plus) If you check Nextdoor and Facebook communities, there's a decent amount of social groups - I know some people have monthly cookouts/potluck, there's a plant lovers group, a painting + wine place, etc.

If you drive (I don't), you're locked in and can only exit via Hill Road. Roads are narrow and roadside parking is dreadful, but most apartments come with a parking space. However, if you take public transport - the ferry is five minutes away, and the free shuttle across Bennelong Bridge gives you quick access to Rhodes, including the train station, parks, brunch places and Rhodes Waterside/IKEA, which is amazing.

Mobile signal is passable, but not great- I can make and take calls through my whole apartment (keeping in mind I live near the river), but it admittedly tends to die out at street level the further you get from the water. No issues with NBN, which is fast, but at least the building I'm in lacks Rhodes' FTTB options (which was even cheaper and faster).

You see a lot of single working professionals and young couples with 1-2 young kids, and that's who I'd recommend this area for. Plenty of dogs and community events for kids, and the library is lovely. WWP feels safe and pleasant - I like it here, and hope to stay for a long time.

My only problem with Wentworth Point is how much potential it has to be truly incredible, and how little faith I have in that happening. The light rail to Parramatta would have been a huge bonus for public transport, but it looks like stage 2 may not go ahead. Wentworth Point Park has been crawling along since 2014 at a snail's pace. It's a beautiful area, but the waterfront was supposed to be developed into a riverside plaza with shops and restaurants, and a landscaped walkway along the river (like Rhodes) - a wonderful plan, but is this even happening anymore? It feels like the riverside has been boarded up for ages. Developers keep putting up more and more high-rise apartments, which does nothing for congestion but development of public spaces for people to actually live their lives seem so neglected. That's the most frustrating thing about WWP to me - I like it just fine now, but if it could only maximise its potential, I think I'd never want to leave.

Did you know you can't actually get from the northern side of Wentworth Point to the southern side without going out of the suburb? It's true - the only connection between the north and south of the suburb is via Hill Road, which lies in the next door suburb of Olympic Park. And that's the only road connection between the northern side of the suburb to the rest of the world. (There's a bridge to Rhodes but you can't drive on it.) The southern side has one additional road: Bennelong Parkway. Yet somehow the suburb is full of cars and the streets are surprisingly narrow (for a new estate out west) and you can't find parking anywhere. Bottom line is, Wentworth Point is great if you can commute by ferry (there's a wharf nearby in Olympic Park). if you need to go anywhere else for work or shopping or whatever, you are buying into massive congestion and a situation where it's almost impossible to use a car, even though you are living in the western suburbs and so can't get anywhere without one.

I've lived in Wentworth Point for about 6 weeks now, living in an apartment across the road from Marina Square and i'm slowly getting to understand the intricacies of the suburb.
It is super peaceful, clean and quiet most of the time with a few randoms screams every now and then (I don't quite understand why). The water is just a few minutes stroll away. With plenty of green areas around, the nature is just beautiful. There are walking tracks and trees around.
The shops (including Coles, Liquorland and Hairdressers/Barbers) are a 2 minute walk away and the Gym is there as well which is fantastic. The suburb feels very safe even late at night I walk regularly even at 9pm-1030pm and there are still lots of people around especially on the Rhodes waterfront promenade (which is one of my favourite things of Wentworth Point).
I personally haven't met anyone during my time here so far (other than my apartment neighbor next door) and that's not to say it will change, but it feels like most keep to themselves which is fine (i'm an outgoing person).
One thing i must call out is the terrible phone reception here. I'm talking hopeless. If you dont have a new phone which has WIFI internet calling as a feature then you wont be able to make or receive calls. WIFI calling is a must!! If your phone does have that feature then you will have phone reception in your unit (its good 90% of the time) but as soon as you leave and WIFI calling is no longer active don't assume you will get phone reception or data (internet) on the street close to apartments, or in the shops - its non existent most of the time. I cant complain about the home WIFI though, internet speeds are great when connected to the NBN in your apartment. Public transport is quite good, the ferry is a 5 min walk away and goes to the city fast and is very convenient both ways. I will however mention that the ferry to Parramatta and return isn't very frequent and doesn't run til late in the night so don't assume that's always an option. The bus service is very good around here to Rhodes train station, they are very frequent so no issues there. The closest post office is in Silverwater which is about a 7min drive thats quite easy to access. Parking is horrific here, if you don't have your own car spot in your apartment then dont bother having a car. 98/100 car spots are always taken in terms of street parking and its a 3 hour maximum parking limit almost everywhere in the suburb. One other aspect to that is, if you buy UberEats or MenuLog you will most likely have to meet the driver on the street to collect your food as a result rather than them coming up to your apartment since there is no parking (something I never thought of before moving here).
Traffic gets congested during peak times, so i'd recommend leaving and returning outside peak times on weekdays and weekends eg. return 730pm onwards in the night to avoid traffic
Finally, the location of Wentworth point is fantastic and is one of my favourite things of the area. It feels close enough to most areas of Sydney for me. Whether I want to go to the City, the South, the East or the West nothing takes more than a 30 min drive to get to. So if you have friends or family all around Sydney you will never be too far away.

WWP is clean and close to the outdoors. It has all the essentials close by. I love the river views and close outdoor areas.

My building is very calm and I have had nothing to complain about it. Also our apartment is very modern with all the essentials. Because of work I have inspected other areas to live closer to my work place. However, it seems like a challenge to find such quality living with the same price range.

I like how multicultural this neighbourhood is.

I would love to have better public transportation and a community pool also in the new side. I think many people are friendly here, but from online I've noticed that some enjoy to complain.

The suburb used to be nice but not anymore. Quiet streets have been replaced with heaps of high rise towers. We have been waiting years for a park. Not sure why a 24/7 gym and others are needed in a residential area.

I’ve always thought WWP was in quite a central location, it’s close-ish to Sydney CBD being only 15km’s away and 10km’s to Parramatta CBD and Macquarie Park. It is also surrounded by water and parklands with great walking and bike tracks. Some good little restaurants on both ends of the suburb and a soon to be opened waterfront cafe on the promenade which will be nice. Public transport could be improved though, there are plans for a light rail which should help then you’ve got the soon to be built metro line which will go through Sydney Olympic Park and will get you to Sydney CBD in 14 minutes. There’s also plans for upgrades to Homebush Bay Drive which will give easier access in and out of the suburb.

The area is marketed as a beautiful waterfront suburb but this is far from reality. There are way too many apartments with more on the way. The streets are dirty with too many dogs in the area and constantly overly full bins. If you live in the ‘old’ part you are lucky to get internet, phone reception and hot water. If you live in the ‘new’ part you will be lucky to sleep at night. The main square looks and sounds like a bus depot and the free shuttle is how the developer pretends to help the community. The only positive of the suburb is the public school, shame there is no park in the suburb for anyone to enjoy, despite the promised 2016 peninsula park. It used to be an okay area to walk in before development took over.

Wentworth Point is a place for renters to eat out, party in their apartment and be inconsiderate of others. After buying an apartment here, I couldn’t wait to move out!

Pros:
- Ideal for those preferring to live in apartments
- Affordable for renters and buyers particularly first-home/intermediate level buyers.
- Beautiful suburb surrounded by Parramatta river which results in incredible views
- Decent mix of amenities - schools, shopping centres, etc.
- Close-ish to CBD which is great if you work in CBD or in Macquarie Park.
- Safe suburb for individuals and families.
Cons:
- Could have a better variety of schools particularly selective schools
- Network is an issue in apartments close to the wharf.
- Internal structure of some apartments leaves one wondering what the architect was thinking while designing the building.

I've lived in many suburbs and none of them come close to Wentworth point.
If you want to live In a suburb where every single thing you need is RIGHT at your feet, than this is the suburb for you. The most essential shops are a few footsteps away. Everyone is very nice and welcoming and the whole area looks very stunning.

There's shopping and thousands of activities to do! cycling, bike tracks, archery, swimming, running - you name it! it's the most fun and beautiful place to live. I love Wentworth point and so glad I've moved here!

Amazing community with very modern and clean streets, buildings and shops.

The whole area is like something out of a movie, so clean and beautiful - with stunning rivers and a relaxing ferry ride to the city just a few minutes walk away from everyone.

I wouldn't live anywhere else, the feeling you get in this suburb is unbelievable - it's like you're always on holidays and in a sanctuary. we love it and we will never even THINK about moving anywhere else. 10/10.

Lived here for 1.5 years so far and still love the place. Marina Square has almost everything you need for groceries, and one can always make the trip to Rhodes Waterside for stores like Target and Ikea. The vast and beautiful Olympic Park area (Bicentennial Park, Blaxland Riverside Park, etc.) is a great place for running and other outdoor activities. Rhodes station is a 13-minutes walk and a 6-minute cycle away, with the free weekday shuttle to fall back on should the situation arise.

We lived in Wentworth Point for two years. During the time we lived there our babies brand new pram was stolen as well as documents from our mail and bag, which led to identify theft, which is ongoing. I see the crime happen daily as it is posted on the Wenworth Point community facebook pages. When the crime occurred the building managers were informed, police informed, cctv facial evidence provided however nothing was done about it, worse is the lack of compassion or care from residents and community surrounding. When the discussion of crime, culture and community was raised on the Facebook page, my comments were deleted.
Wentworth Point on paper appears ideal, it is central, more affordable, and has the beautiful Parramatta River running through it. The reality is it is overdeveloped, lacks culture and community and it is unsafe. It's people have shown me it has a "locals only" not inclusive attitude who want it to appear beautiful because they have a vested interest in the area. I had high hopes of living in Wentworth Point however after my experiences I have moved to the inner city to be with a community who celebrates diversity and inclusion, I feel safe and my insurance premiums have gone down by half!!

6 months since I moved to this suburb and I’m already looking into different places to move out to. Too noisy especially in the morning, why the heck do you have to start mowing the lawn at like 8am? It lasts hours as well.

Only a few buses that will take you to Rhodes station and there’s no shuttles and only one on weekends. So you have to either walk 25m to cross the bridge or wait for a bus that is always delayed.

Plus , train rides back from the city centre during peak hours mean dealing with fully packed trains. It’s always over crowded.

Terrible!

Absolutely horrible suburb to live in, and getting worse! Greedy Developers are building new developments left, right and centre so the suburb feels extremely congested. Original residents of Wentworth Point were promised green spaces in 2014 around the suburb to balance the Apartment to Lifestyle ratio, it's 2019 and this is yet to be delivered. Outside of Marina Square, a cold concrete block occupies where there was meant to be a beautiful rooftop park connecting to the shopping centre (Never happened and remains closed off), the Foreshore park next to the School still remains untouched and gated off. Developers have even gone as far as to say that "Blaxland park is just around the corner" while they demolish trees and wildlife to build yet ANOTHER apartment building in the said forest area. Every single resident I have encountered here is fed up with the saturation of development.
The apartments have high turnovers because nobody wants to stay here for more than 12 months. There is only 1 way in and out for vehicles to the area which always leads to regular traffic and accidents... There is a free community bus, but that's always full because people don't want to pay $2.40 just to go across the bridge. The closest Train station is Rhodes station, it takes 25 mins to get from the city if you are lucky to get the express train. The station services, Rhodes, Brays Bay/Concord, Liberty grove & Wentworth point. So it is ALWAYS full especially during peak hour, if you are ok being claustrophobic and packed on the train like a sardine then that's fine, you will love it. Another option is the Ferry, if you have deep enough pockets and get onto the morning express service you're cheering, it's probably the most comfortable and reliable mode of travel, but again expensive and can take a bit longer if you don't get onto the express service as it stops at every station.
Another major con, is It is ALWAYS noisy, whether it's young kids hooning around at all hours of the night or parties, but the BIGGEST problem is if you choose to live on the Southwestern side of Wentworth point (like me who lives in the Taiga building) you will be a victim of the 24/7 OPERATING DISTRIBUTION CENTRE SMACK BANG IN THE MIDDLE OF WENTWORTH POINT. All hours of the night, and I mean EVERY SINGLE HOUR, you will be awakened by Trucks coming in and out of the D/C with piercing reverse alarms, loud refrigerator systems, trucks dumping palettes on and off trucks, trucks revving their engines and other loud and disturbing activities like Truck drivers screaming and swearing at each other. (Trust me it happens almost every night) and I'm on the 24TH FLOOR. It got so bad that I had to move my bed to my 2nd bedroom, and then to the nook area that has no windows just to escape the noises. After contacting the Property Manager and Owner of the D/C centre, they had said "Sorry nothing we can do we have been here since the 80's" The Development team claim to residents that they conducted acoustic sound travel tests, and that the building was up to code. Welp, their machines must have been broken because you can hear even through the double glazed windows. I feel so bad for the people living below me if this is what I am going through on the 24th Floor.

The only pro I would say about WWP is that it is reasonably safe, close-ish to the city, super close to Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park (So great for concerts and Sports games) The Marina Square is a great convenient shopping centre too.

If you are looking to move into the suburb, research as much as you can! And my advice would be to move to the Northwestern side towards the Ferry terminal as you won't encounter as much noise during the night. Don't get sucked into the cheaper rents on the Southwestern side because it's cheaper for a reason, and that reason is that you will not have a decent and peaceful nights sleep again

We’ve lived here for 8 years and it saddens me to see the decline is this area. We loved it here at first and now with the multitude of apartment building, poor planning, narrow roads, horrendous traffic and lack of parking we have decided to move. We could have lived with all that if we loved the people and it was a friendly place to live. It no longer is. If you have a cat or dog, don’t bother. People in our building, lovely neighbors of ours, are having people take photos of theirs cats laying in the sun and complaining to strata. They are being forced out. People spitting over balconies into courtyards, cigarette butts flicked into others balconies or courtyards. Loud music all night. Can’t use your air con after 10pm. We even got asked by security to turn our courtyard light off!! So very unpleasant.

Have lived in 2 bedroom unit for almost 4 years now.
It's a nice community, well looked after and generally nice, friendly people around. We are lucky enough to be surrounded by quiet neighbours. It's a safe neighbourhood with nice parkland surrounding.
However, all things transport remains the biggest issue and I imagine without adequate changes, will continue getting worse as larger developments continue to take over the suburb.
Parking is a huge issue. We have a two bedroom unit, with one parking spot (pretty common here for a 2 bedroom). There are minimal parking spots on the street and almost everyone in the suburb seems to be in the same boat. We would have loved to sell one of our cars but unfortunately public transport options are lacking and with long wait times (which gets worse around DFO closing time and any major event on Olympic Park).
I would also add that due to the new larger developments, it's also starting to feel quite "crowded".
Also very, VERY poor internet options and coverage. We've tried multiple different options and providers - all with the same issues.

I was a recent tenant in a Share Accomodation / 2 Bed Unit in Wentworth Point.

My gripe with this place is the lack of town planning by Parramatta Council in providing enough resident car parking.
I lived there between late November 2017 and February 2018 and was fined 6 times in total.

5 times on Verona St where I admit my car was illegally parked,
1 times on Nuvolari Place where I moved it to after going down

The problem here is that when I come home of an evening from work I feel that a residential development should provide
adequate parking spots for its residents to park without any hinderance from Local Council Parking Rangers
These Rangers who target the area are simply raising revenue in an area that is target rich because of the deliberate and inadequate parking facilities.

My employment is that I'm a ride share vehicle provider and as such I'm out driving in the early hrs of the morning or evening.

I decided to contest these parking fines based on the fact that there is limited parking facilities and when I did move my vehicle
to Nuvolari Place I was fined yet again. This 6th fine I find grossly unfair as I have tried to relocate my vehicle to what I would consider
a legitimate parking space (and what others would most probably agree as being a legitimate parking space) and I am fined yet again.

In the end and for other reasons I moved out of the area. The idea of getting a 2 bed lease of my own was not an option as
trying to sublet a second bedroom with inadequate parking facilities was on 2 points a no go.
(1) Why would I put someone else through the same problem as detailed.
(2) Why would I take the risk of taking on a lease where I might have problems getting a tenant to move in

So I proceed to Burwood Court yesterday to discuss this unfair situation with the Magistrate.
My fines were 5 @ $257.00 and 1 @ $110.00 which has a total of $1395.00

I get my parking fines decreased to $50.00 each but then receive Court Costs of $164.00 " EACH "

Net result is:

6 x $164.00 + $350.00 = $1334.00

$1395.00 - $1334.00 = $ 61.00

The Magistrate effectively robbed the (NSW Police Force) who issued the tickets and kept most of the money for the courts in what is known as Courts Costs.

I will be taking this matter further however I would suggest anyone wanting to buy a unit in this area with inadequate parking facilities
think twice as it could be a very bad investment.

Wentworth Point is a great suburb but on this point alone it gets a 1 star rating.

I have lived here for 11 months and now close to escaping. Unfortunately the place is becoming so densely populated it is difficult to understand that with only two access roads how this development is going to manage once it is complete. My biggest personal gripe is the noise omitted by an interstate transport company located next to Verona Drive who are operating on a 24 hour operators licence. The residents of Verona Drive are disturbed throughout each night due to being subjected to large trucks continuously using their piercing reverse alarms, the constant revving of engines, hissing and screeching of brakes, refrigeration generators along with other loading and unloading disturbing activities not conducive to the middle of a residential area. Admittedly, the company may well have been operating with a licence well in advance of the now neighbouring apartments being built, however, one would think that consideration in regards to the potential noise impact on the new residents would have been an integral and obvious part of the initial residential planning process, perhaps the financial gain blinded the obvious! Over the past ten months these disturbances have been reported to the local, and currently high profile Auburn council who do not appear to be able to do anything about it.
My neighbour moved into his living room to escape the noise in his bedroom and eventually complained to his real estate agent who allowed him to be released from his contract due to the apartment he rented being classed as not suitable to offer a quiet and disturbance free environment. I also know of other residents who have either left or are in the process of seeking alternative locations.
Wentworth Point may once have been quite a pleasant place to live, it is my opinion that the planners have got it wrong on so many levels. Please accept my apologies for coming across so negative in this report, this is not my normal manner, it's unfortunately how I have become since living here, I so look forward to my departure.
If you are considering moving here, plan accordingly and visit at all hours of the day before you commit yourself, include both early morning and evening visits in your reconnaissance. If you intend moving into the Verona Drive area I would strongly suggest visiting in the very early hours of the morning too.

Best Place to live with growing family. Well combination of nature ,infrastructure to suit modern day lifestyle .Healthy community!!!

In the centre of metropolitan Sydney surrounded by water and parklands. All recreational facilities, shops, cafes and restaurants only moments away but perhaps a bit more variety required. A strong community environment for all ages.

Have lived in WP for the last 5+ years. Love the ambience and the community, love the view of the bay, love the sea eagles.
We have a wonderful active lifestyle, with plenty of social events and lots of activities, like walking, cycling and the gym.
A great place to live.

Wentworth Point is one of the last remaining new Harbour foreshore suburbs left in Sydney. Positioned along Parramatta River between Rhodes and Newington and surround by beautiful nature parklands, Wentworth Point being located at the geographical centre of Sydney is the perfect suburb for the active lifestyle professional, family or Retiree's looking for a point of difference to their day to day living.

With fresh modern buildings, sensational facilities and dining outlets on-site, at Sydney Olympic Park and Newington, plus shopping and entertainment of Rhodes, everything is only moments away.

With the recent government budget announcement of the addition of a School opening in time for 2017 and with the proposed bridge looking positive and linking Wentworth Point and Rhodes together, Wentworth Point will be put on the map as 'the' destinational suburb with a superb BayRun and lifestyle precinct.

Transport could not be any more convenient. Imagine being chauffeured to and from work on Sydney's waterways by RiverCat Ferry Services. Frequently running between Parramatta to Darling Harbour / Circular Quay (and stops in between including North Sydney), I don't think there is a more luxurious way of public transport. Alternatively there are frequent bus services which also drop down at the nearby train stations.

Located on Homebush Bay and surrounded by over 400 hectares of parklands. A true lifestyle suburb. Undergoing tremendous redevelopment from it's industrial history to one of Sydney's best kept residential secrets.

A proposed bridge linking to Rhodes, schools and additional retail and business precincts are planned for the future will make the area more accessible and attractive. Plenty of shopping options with Rhodes and Newington Shopping Centres close by and easy access to major road networks.

Then there is Sydney Olympic Park right on your doorstep. Concerts, sporting events and even more restaurants and things to do.
