All an agent looks for in a tenant is that you can prove that you can look after the home in a good condition and that you can afford to pay the rent. So you will need to supply references to help prove these things. Employment details of current and past employers are extremely important otherwise another source of income needs to be supplied. If you are self employed you will need to supply your accountants details. In regards to past rental references, this is always harder. Maybe give references of anyone that you have lived with in the past as a house mate. You need to prove that you can look after a home. If you have house sat before, give the owners details as a reference.
