a lot of people i have asked said west footscray is a really great area, others said it has high crime and i just dont no what true

Three years living in West Footscray and we are stoked and happy to have secured a place here. We are on the south side of the rail tracks. It has a neighbourhood feel, people are quite friendly, massive park, tennis court, leafy street and walking distance to Kingsville, Seddon and even Yarraville’s cafes and restaurants.

Theres been a crime wave today. I was just robbed a near new $1200 escooter from my front yard. I then caught someone ditching a bike they had just stolen an hour or more after. And at 5pm there was a police manhunt for a suspect who had stolen a truck and flipped it on Francis St attempting to escape said police. Im not having a good day.
