Living in Yarrabilba

Would like some honest feedback and opinions on what its like to live in Yarrabilba?l Queensland.
Is it safe area for the elderly? Proximity to local shopping, accessibility to public transport, doctors, hairdressers etc. Basically we are looking to relocate and wanting an area in which to settle our elderly Mum nearby by.

Thank you so much for the feedback, like yourself we are relocating from NSW and just wanting an area for Mum to settle in.

The market seems strong at present with houses within Mum’s price range selling within days of being listing. So I take that as a good sign. Thank you again for your insight, it’s was most appreciated.

Hi I was very impressed with your answer, we are planning to move to Brisbane from Sydney and so far I liked yarrabilba. I am not sure if your reviews were current but would you please let me know what are your current views on the suburb. I am getting very mixed reviews so I am not able to make up my mind. Thanks

Hi there . We are still in the area and it's going on 2.5yrs . Alot has changed as prices have increased which has pushed some of the renter's further out , although not great for them it has changed the demographic and it's alot more diverse now whichnis good . We have started to get alot more building also including gyms, mechanics , child care , and a decent cafe ( Cafe 63) . In my opinion the negative reviews are from people that have left the area for one reason or another . Coming from Sydney to Brisbane and comparing the 2 we have no issues at all . The area is safe , kids have fun and we just get along with life .. I still believe if you are looking head further into yarrabilba and get a bigger block as the initial release up near Coles had small blocks, town house etc that were quite small . Cheers

If you like listening to barking dogs day and night move to Yarrabilba, I've been here 5 months and have had to sell my house due to the problem, if you ring council and report it your wasting your time as they don't do a thing. I can't wait to get out of here so I can get a good night's sleep.

We have been here for a year and a half and we had some nightmare neighbours that rented . They moved out and we have had not a single issue since and after 6pm the streets ate super quiet . Infrastructure is improving but you will want a car to go to the local shopping centres (30min). We now have a local 24/7 gym, pestered,Thai place ,Pizza, wrap place ,bottle shop ,servo etc. The growth potential is there and the price point to get into the market before prices boom in se qld is perfect . I'd say the demographic is 20-45 mainly with kids. I have no real complaints , my kids play basketball for the local club at the HS and have no issues and the little one loves the water up at the other park near the shops . Luke any area you get good and bad but overall compared to Sydney where we came from this place is fine . A comparable suburb in Sydney would be Oran Park, narellen, Gregory Hills etc. We bought here not knowing the areas and itbhas served a good purpose and will do for another 2-3 years before we move happy to help if I can further thanks and good luck
