Reviews of Yeronga, QLD

"Tightly Held Riverside Inner City Suburb"

Like something you see in the movies, such a nice leafy suburb.

So close to the city with heaps of parklands, great for running along the corso and also have the Queensland Tennis centre close by. Friendly community with lots of nice Queenslanders on leafy streets. Great schools and University of QLD close by. The train station has been completely re-built and set to benefit from the metro and cross river rail upgrades. Such close proximity to Southbank, CBD and Woolongabba which is set to undergo major infrastructure upgrades. Yerongpilly Green set to complete in late 2023 which will provide brand new Woolworths, gyms, and retail close by.

"Yeronga reminds me of the place you draw as a child"

I love selling homes in Yeronga

Yeronga reminds me of the place you draw as a child when you are told to draw where you want to live. The wooden houses, The leafy parks, The winding river, and the community vibe. Perfect for families, professionals, ANYONE!
The fact that it is a quiet Riverside precinct tucked away and hidden from the rest of Brisbane makes it very special. Even now it still holds the 'hidden gem' profile although people are starting to discover Yeronga and falling in love. You will notice that there is never too much on the market in Yeronga at any one time. This is because no-one wants to move out of the area and if they do, we find that they always come back to settle down.
Yeronga has a mix of people and property. The type of property ranges from units, townhomes to family households and stunning Riverfront Yeronga is close to the University and major hospitals as well as being only 7km from Brisbane City which can be accessed by Train or Bus.

Yeronga is steeped in History with the original women's military hospital (Rhyndarra ),
Why live anywhere else :)

"Convenient Riverside Suburb"

Leafy green riverside suburb with parks and recreational facilities good for families. Trains and buses are available and it is just a short ride to the city and UQ. City is only 6km away and driving only takes 10mins during non peak hours. South Bank and West End is closeby. Yeerongpilly Green is walking distance away and once it is fully developed with shops and cafes will bring greater vibrancy to the area.

"Lots of housing commission"

I have lived in Yeronga now for 2 years and to say the least, it has been absolutely terrible. The first year of living here there have been murders, people's remains found in bins, an armed robbery where a man nearly got his throat slit. From my understanding there are alot of housing commission in Yeronga and thus meaning alot of questionable people roam the streets.

My wife and I live in Yeronga street and through the Facebook group "Yeronga residents" it is clear that many many many houses/ cars get broken into and even armed robberies.

Only last week did we come home to a middle aged women high on drugs in our backyard.

My wife and I do enjoy the easy access of the train station, however i would refrain using it any time after 9pm due to the people that hang around it at that time.

I would much rather live in Sherwood, Fair field or Oxley than live in Yeronga. The reasons mentioned above are the reasons we are moving.

I agree, the train station is very run down, challenging to walk over (I am young and fit), and despite the generous median house price, does have a high proportion of low price rental properties, and has some very rough people, and yes we use to live on the river side which is better. Fairfield, Indooroopilly, St Lucia are much more respectable.

Yeronga seems to be a well kept secret. We discovered the suburb by accident. It's close to rail lines and has a great bus network. Approx 6km or so from the CBD and minutes by train from South Bank. Many parks and walking tracks. Great riverfront location, generally quite high. Quaint shops. We are also looking forward to the Yeerongpilly Green development on the Tennyson/Yeerongpilly/Yeronga border as it will bring some great shopping and nightlife. That will round Yeronga out perfectly.

Yeronga is a great suburb. It is great for kids as it has heaps of parks, playgrounds and trees. We all love walking down by the river right on dusk.

It has got a great community feel and heaps of services including the RSL, public and private schools, churches, cafes and restarants.

The best thing about it is that it on a little bit of a peninsula so the only cars in Yeronga are those of the residents. This really assists with the serene feel of the place.

I would recommend Yeronga for anyone who is looking for a peaceful enclave with easy access to the city.

Yeronga is leafy and great for walks on the river. The community is friendly and caring and always ready to greet you with a smile. Neds, the local cafe at Yeronga Village makes the best Merlo coffee. Bassara Florist has the most gorgeous earrings and jewellery which is very reasonably priced. The local Hyde Road Kindergarten is fantastic for pre schoolers and St Sebastians is a wonderful little school for primary education. Yeronga Park Swimming Complex is a big part of life in Yeronga and have many swimming lessons going on any given day - it is also clean and serves great coffee too. We love it!
