"Handy to Everything"
Alanvale Road is a main arterial road into Mowbray and Newnham and there can be a bit of traffic, but it's so handy to everything. Straight onto the bypass into the city or into Mowbray. You don't notice any road noise once you're inside and the neighbours are generally all friendly and helpful. Mostly retirees and young families live in the immediate area.
Older style homes primarily on the southern end of the street, but furhter north the homes are much newer.

"This street has never quite taken off ..."
Running parrallel to Georgetown Road from the foot of Alanvale Hill this street has never really taken off -- either as a busy but residential street or strip development. Homes on Alanvale Road are very affordable they enjoy relative peace and quiet and are situated on big blocks. The Alanvale campus of Launceston TAFE enjoys great views and is only accessible from Alanvale Road.
